What is with black interiors?

I love red leather interiors, specifically black paint/red interior. That's how I would have ordered it, too.

You are in shorts....
And you are feeling what an egg-in-a-pan is feeling on your thighs

Re: Vinyl interior in a '97 Chrysler Concorde. Of course your freshly re-charged AC will freeze 2 minute later...

Maybe I'm looking at the wrong vehicles (cheap ones).

Since I'm stuck, how bad will dog hair show up on a black interior? And will a DGC with only front AC do ok for cooling the entire interior?

maybe they sold all the light colors

I looked at Dodge's site and clicked on build, and it's all black.

Ah, I recall someone mentioning that in a different thread; i guess there is that too.

Yeah they're almost all black. My grandma has a 14' Grand Caravan SXT, when we were shopping they were all black. Kind of a strange seat material. Hers has been sitting since October after an accident though.

Are you shopping for new or just playing around with options on the site?

They really lose a lot of value, she got hers at 2 years old and 27k miles for $16k. Power lift gate, power sliding doors, stow-n-go seats, rear a/c, power driver's seat etc.

The ones without rear a/c are usually the American Value edition, which doesn't have stow-n-go seats, so if you wanted to haul anything you've got to lug out those bench seats. Yuck.

I love black interior, never gets too stained like tan or grey. Hertz only has black interior Camry only for a reason.

Somehow women hate it, so oh well.

Sorta shopping. I'm realizing my truck gets driven just on the weekends (although I splurged and drove it to work today). We're trying really hard to get my son a mobility dog, and they run in Great Dane size, so put two teens, a Dane and a beagle into the backseat of a Camry... My son has problems climbing into my truck. Ergo, it just doesn't make sense anymore.

Found this 2013 that I'm tempted to look at. Stripper model, but I'm cheap like that. No backup camera, no Bluetooth so that gives me pause. Steel wheels is a plus, and if I'm not mistaken, they're 17" so that means HD brakes? so that is a plus. No rear a/c to break--you know me, I'm a luddite at heart.

I was going to look even older, but, given his condition, electric doors makes sense. Despite how much I dislike the idea of having to fix them, eventually.

I’ve never really minded black interiors, but it depends on the car. What does get hot in the summer is the gearshift knob on the Club Sport; I replaced the original piece with a UUC Motorwerks RK II stainless steel knob. It gets HOT!

I agree with Nick. They depreciate very quickly. My neighbor purchased a new DGC out of confidence that it would be easy for him to work on since the county he works for uses DGCs as their fleet vehicles. Their van has had numerous issues and has been in and out of the dealer. I would try to shop around a bit more. It would be hard going from three Toyotas to a Dodge, lol.

If you don't like black interior you just don't buy anything that has it. When I bought my Honda the dealer asked me about color. I told him I wanted white diamond pearl with a beige leather interior. He then said what is your second choice. I told him the exact same color combo and that is what I bought. Had to order at the time and wait, but to me was worth it.

As someone that has worked for both Volkswagen and Lexus black is is, just as tan was years ago. I Saw a white and blue Porsche with an immaculate dark blue interior. So yes other colors pop up now and then. I can say the black interior is noticeably hotter. The dealership had two vehicles that were identical except one black interior and one flaxen (Light tan), and the interior temperature was noticeably different.

Yeah, its kind of sad what offered on the lots right now. With very FEW exceptions, its all monochromatic exteriors, WHITE, black, grey, or silver, mostly all with black interiors. UGH.

I think that can go both ways, a Family friend's Sienna went thru two transmissions on Toyota's dime and after the second time they simply traded it in.

Very HOT and Dusty in New Mexico and Black shows the dust and is hot when parked ...even with a windshield shade and dark tint. Current SS only had Black interior in the USA but when gone, it's replacement will be tan (dust color!).

My buddy lives in Phoenix and when he sees a Black on Black car he thinks "either a tourist or an idiot".

My guess is that it's cheaper to have one standard interior color, so that's what you'll find these days.
Even our cheapie old Aerostar came in various interior colors, ours being a light beige.
We have a couple of '14 Caravans in the fleet at work and they have quite dark interiors. They seem okay even in very hot weather since they do have efficient AC.

Most likely it hides stain better so when a lease / rental turns into a CPO, it will fetch more value.
