What is the difference in these two trucks?

My 2001 Silverado with traction control has drive by wire.

Also, the Idle Air Control valve is not removable for cleaning. The entire TB is serviced as a unit, it seems. I found this out when I tried to get an IAC O-ring from a dealer.

And yes, "2" on the shifter actually starts you out in second gear. Has your dad ever tried that on the ramp?

If you have drive by wire on a GM truck I don't think there is any IAC as the throttle controls idle. What motor is in this truck? Also what truck had traction control in 2001?

It's a base model 2WD regular cab with the 5.3. Traction control was an option, and well worth it, I think.

How do we know if these trucks have a locker or not?

Have you checked the codes in the glovebox? When I was asking around about changing my diff fluid, everyone assumed I had a locker and I don't.

"G80" appears on the list of codes in the glovebox.
