Yes Ted, the XHVI basestocks are impressive. Of course, your comment about additive chemistry is spot on. One only needs to look at Schaeffer and Chevron products to see this.
Darryl, I just don't like being ripped. Fortunately for all of us, there are many good choices out there, not just M1. However, your counter-argument regarding a Group I oil is a bit disingenuous since your premise could never be realized. On the other hand, I could be convinced that there may be a blend or a group III such as XHVI that may be the very best oil for a given application. If this were indeed the case, I would buy and use it, even at inflated pricing.
