What is going on at Walmart ?

There are many situations in a Walmart where people can cut themselves. Both customers and workers. Plenty of stockers using box cutters, working fast is just one example.

I was in my Walmart once last year, and an employee who was operating a pallet jack, and was stocking, had tipped over an entire pallet FULL of Jack Daniels Whiskey that they were creating a large end cap sale for. There was broken glass EVERYWHERE, and literally GALLONS of it all over the floor.

Several old, retired men customers were standing around, all but crying over such a senseless disaster.

Blood born pathogens are a serios issue. Teachers are re-trained on it every year. I presume most big employers do so now.

Yes, better not to touch it at all, but someone has to clean it up so someone else does not inadvertantly.

I presume this display was not supposed to be in view of the public - but honestly why not. Brings awareness.

Anyone who has ever worked in retail wouldnt question this at all. I saw all sorts of medical issues back in the day.

Back in the 80's I worked in a now defunct members-only type store that had forklift operations going on during shopping hours. They beeped loudly, there were signs everywhere, we would close off aisles while they were loading, etc. Some old guy walked around a forklift while it was backing up. The forklift driver felt a jolt and immediately stopped and looked back and said "Did I hit you? Are you ok?" and the old guy said "Nope, I'm fine." Then they both looked down and saw the guys foot, almost completely crushed and blood everywhere. The guy didnt even feel it. Almost immediately there was a lawsuit but the old guy died a month or so later from something totally unrelated so the hubbub calmed down pretty quick. We didnt even fire the forklift driver, which I was ok with because he was a really good guy and a hard worker.

Heart attacks, cuts, falls, drunks, car accidents in the parking lot..... we saw everything. A blood kit? Big whoop.

Training and equipping employees to deal with the inevitable accidents is a good thing. The more people that know what to do the fewer that will be running around with their hair on fire.

People get shot and stabbed in Walmart stores at a frequency higher than one might think. You want to be prepared to clean up the blood quickly so that someone doesn't slip on it and sue the corporation.

Also, you want to avoid the stain on the vinyl tiles and not have to replace them.
