what have I done?

I'll fess up. Even though I managed to change the oil in my truck a week or so ago I just couldn't bring myself to do the same for my wife's new Pathfinder. I mean it was darn cold and it doesn't even have 2,000 miles. I know, Im not worthy of BITOG membership

So feeling like I neglected a new vehicle I asked her to stop by the Havoline Express Lube today and have them drain and fill with new Havoline 5w30 (and use the Hastings filter she purchased already). Well as luck would have it, she loves the place! They took her car right in (good since the oil was at operating temp) and were done in 15 minutes. They also vaccumed out the vehicle and gave her a $2.00 coupon for the drive-thru car wash next door (which they own).

So now I can look forward to her spending $28.00 for an oil change plus the 5-7 bucks for our own filter AND the swirlies that those darn drive-thru washes always leave behind

On the bright side, the oil is new, the car is clean and I'm warm and comfy. I'm such a failure.

Don't be hard on youself, Mike. You are definitely worthy of BITOG membership. Her car has Havoline oil and a Hasting filter in it, and the engine isn't broken in! I'd consider that a pretty decent alternative to freezing your tail off.
And the swirlies, well it's her car, not yours!! 'Hope it's not a dark colored pathfinder. You may have to consider investing in Zaino products to remove the swirls.

The good news is your wife is happy, and it only cost $28.00

The former owner of the Cherokee I just bought gave me the last 10 or so receipts from the place he got the oil changed at every 6k. He spent $115 every trip!

Synthetic oil, topping off of other things, checking the brakes, all kinds of crap...

If you are warm and confy......then life is good. The swirl marks......don't worry about it.....leave it to women to trash the vehicles left and right. My wife was trying to center the car in a parking lot space.....she backed up with the door open for better "visibility"

.......apparently, visibility wasn't so good because she hit a small pole with the door, denting the edge of the door on the brand new 01 Accord.

I sure hope they sent him a Christmas card! LOL Nice to get those receipts when you buy a vehicle from someone. I bet that Jeep was a purrrrrrfect condition when you got her.

.......the best thing is that I traded that beutiful looking and running 01 Accord for my current slapping and badly assemble 02 Z28. It is fast though!

A good friend of mine purchased a last model year Z. Beautiful car! His is sitting in the garage with about 1,000 miles on it. That last Z will no doubt become a very highly sought after collectible in no time.
