Love mine and have had it since August 2009. Maybe washed it four times since then. Say it can take 20 washes in it's lifetime. My UOA's on the vehicle have shown that the highest silicon was 10 PPM. Were these filters costing FRAM too much money?

Sadly, my guess is that they were NOT moving the way Sino Mart, and all of the auto chains which had them on their shelves
wanted/expected them to, hence they are LONG gone.

It's a shame as I was just about to spring for one or two when they chopped them off of their lineup.

Slow sales cost any company way too much money!

However, you might be able to find NOS online somewhere

The Air Hogs were discounted by Pep Boyzz before they disappeared, but they were just a K&N copy, and were oiled.

The cool thing about the Synwashes was that they were a much less costly copy of the aFe Pro Dry S, and Air Raid Synthamax, with NO oil to worry about getting onto the MAF sensor.

I totally just jinxed myself by this post... I was going to clean mine today and it's gone! It appears that the shop that did my timing belt swapped it out with a new Subaru air filter. They probably just thought it was a dirty ol' FRAM basic. ARRRGGGG

Too bad the Synwash and AirHog didn't come with one of these stickers like K&N Uses:

My Air Hog did come with a sticker that I put on my filter cover

I only use the Air Hog during certain months(Spring-Autumn). Never during the winter. I can't say that it does much, if anything!

I did buy it at PepBoys several years ago on closeout as mentioned($7). It was the last one remaining and I wasn't even looking for an air filter when I spotted it sittin' all by itself.

The AirH's pleats run long ways unlike the K&N's that I have for the other cars, that run from side-to-side.

I can't say that I have ever seen/spotted a SynWash!
