If they go to WM they will prob go out of business, they can't compete with fram's price

FRAM's are cheap but I haven't noticed them being inexpensive.

Have you seen K&N prices?

$18-$20 for Synthetic media

K&N doesn't use any synthetic media as far as I've ever seen. (ONLY in their diesel heavy duty truck engine types, not in any automotive type.)

BTW, K&N and Mobil1 are both made by Champion Labs and pretty much the same filter, unless there's been a change recently.

Where were you!?!?!

They moved overseas for a while now no champs lab meaning NO USA
I believe only M1 is still with champs lab

they are made in mexico now.

Looks like powersports wrench-off only, for synthetic media. I wasn't really impressed with them when Champ built them-they reminded me of a Mobil 1 filter with a nut on them-now that they're like a Driveworks at TRIPLE the price-can't believe they sell any at all.

What the heck happened to the other thread?

I think the issue is not so much "quality" as "value". They seem very expensive what what they are, there seems to be little technical information on the website.

Yep, I noticed that too, they put synthetic media in Powersports applications, NOT automotive. They use synthetic media in heavy duty truck diesels too. Not automotive applications.

Yeah, my biggest complain is their stupid expensive prices for marketing and also that other filters provide much better performance and lower price.

I would never pay more for less, my

yeah someone erased my thread in regards to K&N. i don't know why????

I agree the value is not good compared to other filters.

I would still like an answer to a previous question.

Is it wise to run made in Mexico K&N oil filter to 15K miles???

Just get an Ultra (rated to 15K) if they specify one for your vehicle. If they don't do an Ultra, then run a Purolator Synthetic.

I wouldn't without synthetic media, get OEM or fram ULTRA as many recommend.

I wouldn't.

That said I did not see anything egregiously wrong in the virgin autopsy you previously posted. If fact it looked like a pretty good $5-6.00 filter.

There are plenty of people here who run filters a long time, but without some cut open used filters it is hard to say how a filter will hold up.

Thanks for all the input guys in regards to K&N and mileage. I would run Fram Ultra, but I have 2 new K&N filters (both free) that need to be used. Once used, if a member on here is willing to cut open I'll be happy to send over.

I would be happy to cut and post for you (just PM me).

They will still be there as many people don't cut their filters, and their marketing team is strong.
