What ever Happened to Mobil Super

My local BJ’s club carry’s it. Expensive though. Oil isn’t a very good deal at BJ’s unfortunately.
You can buy it online I think walmart.com sells it even
Or just purchase the least expensive house brand synthetic such as SuperTech. It is a similar Group III based oil.
Every now and then it's $15.99 for a 6 pack which I think is a decent price.
Summit sometimes has it on sale. But you gotta pay for shipping unless you have a location close by or are adding it to a bigger order.

FleetFarm carries the regular Super, haven’t checked in store to see if they have the HM variety though.

Mobil Super was a fan favorite here like a decade ago!
Yes it was. O'Reilly's was selling it cheap, and guys were loading up many cases of the stuff.
I'm not worried about this because when my Walmart carried it the price difference was only $2 less than Mobil 1.

I like reading about engine oil, but I have serious doubts about whether trying to save a buck or two using mobil super, supertech, etc. is truly economically rational behavior. Those oils are more than adequate for most of us, I just think saving three bucks per year should not generate this much conversation!
Just think of it as a harmless way to express our OCD (or CDO for some of us).
I certainly don't think it is harmful ... weird, and even weirder that I am somehow drawn to it ... but not as weird as people that like blue cheese, which is simply beyond the pale.
Deals are fun, but when I spend about as much on a tank of gas as I would on a premium oil change that will go 5k minimum, I'll buy the oil I want.
Gone are the days when I could buy a case of high quality oil (24 quarts) for $8, That was in the 1960s.
Of course, in those days a $9600 a year starting salary for a new graduate engineer was pretty good.

At our BJ's, there's still Mobil Super Blend but the synthetic has been replaced by Mobil Full Synthetic.
