What does OG mean when referring to oil filters?

The Fram Titanium from Advance Auto still uses the old wire-backed filter media FWIW...
Reports have come in that Titaniums have been seen without the wire backing, so could be they are going the route of the Fram OG Ultra. :(

"What does OG mean?
OG is a slang term for someone who’s incredibly exceptional, authentic, or “old-school.” It can be earnestly used for a legend like Michael Jordan or more ironically, like for that friend who can unwrap a Starburst with their mouth."

The OG Ultra was somewhat "exceptional and legendary" in the oil filter world.

Confirmed for myself a couple months ago during AAP 25% off promo, newest production Titanium 7317 (popular) no longer wire backed. A couple older ones but also made 2022 did have wire backed OG media. I expect as stock moves out, other applications will follow suit.

As for OG, when it comes to describing Fram Ultra (and now also Wix labeled) means the "Original" construction. But, Original Gangsta works 'for me' too.
