What do you do when people cut you off?

What do I do?

Nothing.

I might mutter something about how he or she is a device used to introduce a stream of water into the body for medical or hygienic reasons but I don't do anything physical about it.

There's already one jerk on the road. Why make it two?

If I'm in a long line of cars waiting to enter another roadway and there are cars driving down the shoulder, I do not let them in. Nope. You messed up. Now you get to wait there. Larger cars, usually SUVs, try to bully their way in. I'll give them a friendly tap on the horn to remind them that they are not clever for going around the long line of traffic on the shoulder. I do not give way. I guess I am a jerk in that aspect. I love looking in the mirror and seeing the vehicles behind me continue to block Ms."I'm too good to wait in traffic like you people".

Cutting someone off is not cool to begin with . You don't know who your dealing with. I get [censored] and let it go. I did follow a woman once for ten miles. She was within inches on clipping my front bumper going 70 mph.

As you'd learn in any track driver's school, run your own race.
Don't let other drivers control your actions.
Out of their cars, almost all of them are overweight and have never been in good shape in their lives.
They compensate by driving tough.
They're really weak and insecure people, who are to be pitied.
A car is an entertaining piece of transportation, and driving on the street is not a competitive sport any more than playing video games is.
Drive as you please and ignore the insecure fools.

I'm certainly glad that my parents raised me to maintain an adult attitude. I've seen people do things like that, and it only makes them look foolish and childish. People who stoop to such antics are worthy of a chuckle and a sad shake of the head, but not much more.

I'm 6'4" 230 lbs.,have a beard and ride a Harley (but I'm a real softie)and also have a concealed handgun and permit (.45 1911 auto)....I have 'em tailgate,cut me off and shoot me the finger....I pray and ask for wisdom and maturity every day...you never know what kind of crazy,retarded maniac you are dealing with out there. I have more important things to do (such as transporting my young family/kids safely to and from school, etc.) than getting ticked by those idiotic drivers. I'd rather stay on the slow (curb) lane and resume my driving like I should, just minding my own biz.

Lots of cops here catching speeders these days (giving out lots of tickets to replenish the city coffers, etc.)

I live close to UC Ivine, college students cut me off all the times, some even gave me the finger after cut me off. What did I do ? Nothing, I don't have time to mess around with young kids.

Seriously. I have more to think about during my day than to how to "get somebody back" for an action out on the road.

I like what RiceCake said above. If they did it on purpose, you showing your anger just gives them a rise. If they're not aware they did something and you do something "in return", they don't know it's "in return" for anything, and now you're the very guy you thought that person was, TO that person.

Nothing positive can come out of retaliation. They won't "get" your message, they won't change the way they drive, and you just end up mad or angry. Road safety is a collaborative effort, and we all must do our part.

I try hard to do nothing, to avoid an accident, and to put distance between me and the unsafe driver.

I try to recognize the humanity of my adversary and acknowledge the possibility that the bad behavior is inadvertent, or the result of some extreme situation.

If I suspect DWI, I dial 911.

Many MANY years ago, I would crush up strike anywhere match heads and fill up a small nut between two small bolts.

If someone cut me off, I would get back in front of them and discretely flip a tiny bolt bomb over my shoulder.

Ahh to be young and not quite so stupid again. Fortunately, on a Kawasaki ZN1100 LTD, you didn't even have to shift down to get away from most '80s cars. Twist the throttle and I'm gone.

I had a guy once cut me off then slam on the brakes and give me a NYC salute. I cut out on an exit ramp at the last minute and let him have the road. Not worth getting worked up over.

I just go on with life... I may say something out loud to myself but that is the extent of it unless it was VERY dangerous move on their part, then I will use a horn or something. I am sure I have cut a few people off accidentally a few times. I am not perfect, neither are other people.

When I was younger I use to throw pennies out the window when someone was tailgating the [censored] out of me. After about 3 or 4 cents they can't bear hearing the loud cracking noise on their windshield and back off.
