What is recomended for my 62 Pete with a 855 cu in Cummins? I was reading the Penray site and they recomend a coolant with ATSM 6010 or 6011.

I can't find anything locally with that #. The truckstop has the same Peak coolant that the parts stores have.

I do have some of the additive to add to the stuff because it does have wet liners.

Basically you're looking for the magic words, "Heavy Duty" or "Fleet" in current over-the-road, off-road, and marine diesel engine antifreeze/coolants. The heavy duty antifreeze/coolants are intended to be "recharged" periodically with supplemental coolant additives for economy and many come already pre-charged for initial use. Use commercial chemicaly treated test strips to monitor when to recharge. Products meeting ASTM D-6210/6211 specifications and compatible with Penray cooling system treatments include, but are by no means limited to, Peak Fleet Charge, Zerex EXTREME Extended Life, Prestone HEAVY DUTY, etc.

Hi there,

I was a little too concerned about my Mercedes 240D and bought three gallons of premixed Final Charge from Walmart. You may find it for $10 a gallon at Walmart. It does not need to be charged and is suitable for wet sleeved engines.

I saw the final charge stuff. I need 12 gallons! I was hoping to find 6 gallons of coolant and then just buy 6 gallons of distilled water.

Much cheaper this way.

The only place I can find full strength final charge is a dealer, I emailed them and they told were to get it from. It was about $16 a gallon with tax and you almost have to have it because there is no way to get it mixed correct unless you pull the motor and turn it upside down to get everything drained so it would be weak. Some one told me that rotella is making an extended life coolant for diesels and it is compatiable with the final charge as well.
