What do I do with MMO?

+++!. John--Las Vegas
Do either of you have evidence to dispute the manufacturer's claims or that this product will damage the engine? MMO seems pretty safe, judging by the people on this board who have used it.

I don't know where you got the kerosene from...? There's been multiple threads, and there's no kereosene in MMO, at least none that is traceable, it's one of the most talked about, and attempted-to-reproduce additives IMHO lol....It's mostly ashless oil (think TCW-3, hence the reason why it being a good Upper Cylinder Lubricant...), and some cleaning agents...

There's even been a VOA done on it, http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g35/bobistheoilguy/BlackstoneMarvelMysteryOilReport.jpg that points out that it's about a 10W oil, with large amounts of Phosphorous...,and a flash point of 160 degrees...which is likely why my oil level goes down about 1.5-2k after running it in the oil....it simply "burns off"

my primary use of MMO is for the Upper Cylinder Lube, as the government is pushing 10-15% ethanol onto us, in an attempt to kill off older motor vehicles (so we can buy GM vehicles, so GM can pay off their debts?), MMO puts the lubricity back into the fuel, with the added bonus of the mild detergency.

And yea, there's been some who "pre mix" the MMO with Acetone, and etc other stuff in attempt to "roll their own" fuel injector mixtures

I like MMO.
But using it in the crankcase with no special reason is NOT recommended. Many modern engines stay clean and don't need it.
In the gas? For sure! Lube for the pump, valve guides, rings, and a bit of sealing and cleaning. 4ounces/10 gal fuel is fine.

Forget about trannys .

i dont put it in my crankcase, but there could be times that you would need to do so. my set up is different than most. i put mmo in the gas tank, 2 oz for 10 gal . and i have an upper oiler. that puts oil into the intake manifold, check out, .ampcolubes.com/ they have what i call an "upper oiler". these oiler are kind of like the ones marvel mystery made. in my set up it meters about 1 qt in 800-1000 mlies, in the intake, this double set up gets oil in the injectors, gas tank, and oil on valves. been doing this for 3 years no trouble. the engine starts very fast

Does your car pass normal emissions tests?

What do I do with it? (The wife will have it on the frying pan)

It says add some to oil and gas but how much and how often? I have an oil change coming for two rigs soon.
You package it up properly.
Then mail it to me.

I've been using it since the 70's and it does exactly what they state it does. Frees sticking lifters, cleans engines and will remove varnish given some time. It the gauge was working again. The guy that sold me the car said it didn't work for years and he'd fill up every 200 miles. I use it as a fogging oil and fuel stabilizer. Just yesterday I took my 11 HP Honda powered power washer out of storage, it was fogged with MMO, and MMO was added to a full tank of gas before storing the machine. I was hoping to use the machine last year but had no work for it, so it sat with gas in the tank for 2 years. It started on the second pull and ran like a champ.

What I don't understand is people making statements about how it doesn't work when they never tried it? Or it will ruin an engine if added to gas or oil. Puzzling.............

One last thing, my 88 E-150 has either been fed MMO via the gas or via an Inverse Oiler since new. It still has the original CC. Same goes for my Aerostar which has seen it for 150,000 miles, that I've driven it. It should be at 200,000 miles late July, original CC and O2 Sensor.

I have used MMO for over 40K miles on the buick... At every fill up, (2 days MAX), i would add 4-8OZ per fill of 13-15 Gals. I have not missed adding MMO once. Car runs very well for the mileage it has, uses less then 1/4 QT per 5K OCI even with 3-4K rpms every so often, and i just changed the plugs recently, while the whole time i have been using MMO, and they looked great. for a $1.98 ACdelco plug.. Im sold on this stuff. I also replaced the fuel pump when i started using the MMO 40K miles ago, and just again had to drop the tank to replace the sending unit due to exterior rust, and the fuel pump was in perfect condition... Spotless along with the tank... This mind you was a AirTeX Fuel pump.. I have also put a full QT in the engine oil, and ran it for 2-3K miles, just to keep this high mileage engine clean... No ill effects.. i use near a QT every 2 weeks.. love this stuff!
I use MMO because it lubricates the fuel pump, injectors, and maybe upper cylinders walls, cleans the tank, lines, injectors.. but mostly just for the lubricating properties of it...
