What Color Shows The Least Amount of Scratches?

Know exactly what you're talking about with red vehicles. I have a 2002 Toreador Red(light raspberry) F-150. Every scratch and nick shows it's ugly head proudly

. I've had white vehicles that didn't show the scratches and even my 1989 Metallic Grey didn't show the scratches as bad as the newer Toreador Red

. But I also noticed that newer vehicles scratch easier and show the base coat much easier than older vehicles. I understand that in order to lessen "pollution" the car companies are using "environmentally friendly" paint and application methods. But unfortunately this results in much lower quality paint job and "weaker" paints.

When clean, nothing compares IMO. Silver is next though. Tired of the hassle with black.

I like Silver so long as you don't look too close! My '88 Jeep Cherokee in silver looks great until you look close and pick up all the swirls in the paint job. From a few feet though, no scratches ever show.

Silver also hides the grime/dust/road salt color extremely well.

Dirt really shows on our white vehicle, and not nearly as much on the silver one. They might be similar on hiding scratches. Silver seems to reflect more heat.

White will hide scratches, along with silver. Gold has to be the king of not showing dirt. You never have to wash it. IMO, it looks equally bad, dirty or clean.

Black has to be the hardest color to shoot, followed by the lighter metallics and pearls. Silver has to be the worst for durability, though. There is no pigment to stop sun damage. Here in the sun belt, old silver cars look the worst.
