You re-read a book? You are definitely a book worm.

It's a good book. 12th in the series, which ultimately will be 14 books. When I read it before Christmas, I realized I had forgotten some details from books 10 and 11 (the previous year I re-read books 1-9), so I went back and re-read 10 and 11, so NOW I can really enjoy 12 and pick up a whole mess of detail.

I'm also currently re-reading all the how to buy stocks/read charts books from IBD.

Oh, that's cool.

"An Army at Dawn" and "Day of Battle" both by Rick Atkinson Waiting for the third book in the trilogy. Great WWII history.

Recently re-read "We were Soldiers Once and Young" by Lt. Gen. Hal Moore. Great book about the initial battles in the Ia Drang Valley.

Anything by Clive Cussler when I have time to kill.

The Atkinson books are indeed terrific. I especially enjoyed the first one, about the fighting in North Africa. "We were soldiers once and young" is also terrific. (co-written by Joseph Galloway, btw). Speaking of Vietnam, I recently read Bernard Fall's "Street without Joy" about the French experience there in the 1950's. Fascinating.

I'm currently reading "The Age of Wonder" by Richard Holmes which is fun and interesting.

We'll Be Here for the Rest of Our Lives, by Paul Shaffer.

So far, it's a great read. Lots of cool and crazy tales.

Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Tales. Very good historical series following the endeavors of Uhtred. Waiting on the next book.

Only about 1/2 through HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy.(been like that for months). I'll get around to it soon.

I too have read Mein Kampf, the look I got when I bought it at Barnes and Noble years ago was awkward. The sales lady gave me a snide look. I'm a big history buff.

David McCullough's "John Adams"... just got through reading a bio on Alexander Hamilton.. very thick and very detailed bio on his life. very interesting. folks wonder why he is on our currency. not only was he our first secretary of treasury, our current economic system is mostly based on his ideas. of course back then they though he was crazy and way too advanced for their simple lives.. they even thought he was corrupt and he wasnt. when he was shot and killed by Burr. he was almost broke. like Adams he didnt use his position in office to further his income.

my next book is by Steve Earle "doghouse roses".. cant wait, love steve earle

SAME here!

I may get this one as well since I want to see if he white washes (or is fully honest) about how he treated his kids (and EVERYONE for that matter) in his totally under the influence, 'wasted' days.
Most, if not all of these short stories are true, correct?

Despite this, I still think he is one phenomenal (singer?)-songwriter.
"Days Aren't Long Enough" off of Washington Square Serenade, with his better half (Allison Moorer) singing harmony is one of THE BEST love songs I've ever heard!!

I read Fall's book some years back trying to come to grips with Viet Nam. Try "[censored] in a Very Small Place" about Dien Bien Phu. Also found all of Col. David Hackworth's books interesting. However a retired Army Colonel acquaintance (he is also a a former Marine enlisted grunt who saw combat in Viet Nam) believes him to be traitor. I might feel the same about Randy Cunningham.

Didn't realize the biblical term for the netherworld would be censored in a book title. Mea Culpa

BOOK 13 - Towers of Midnight (Wheel of Time) is out. So far it's GREAT. I have to say this. Jordan created the world, Jordan planned it all out. But sometimes he droned a bit and re-used phrases. Sanderson actually writes better. Read the reviews at Amazon - the only bad reviews are because they delayed the Kindle version......supposed for monetary reasons.

Buster - I'm asking for a Kindle for Christmas, I'll ask the wife for that book.....

Never been much of a fiction fan, but recently I saw a piece on the Sunday Morning show about author Lee Child.

On a whim, downloaded his first, Killing Floor, to our Sony eReader. Really liked it.

Now I've read Gone Tomorrow, 61 Hours, and currently reading Die Trying. All Lee Child books.

Main character is the same in each story, and each is free standing - you don't need to read them in any particular order.
