Yes. The question posed concerned recommended oil. I use all Honda fluids except oil. Price diff isn't far on the other fluids compared to aftermarket.

It depends on which oil company paid the most for their name on the vehicles' oil cap.

I bet that the ones that recommend a certain brand get some sort of kick back.maybe Castro gives them the oil filler cap free in order to get free advertising? Saving the manufacturer millions since they are not paying for the cap

Ford recommending Motorcraft Oil, Toyota recommending TGMO, GM recommending ACDelco Dexos. Gosh forbid you run a Toyota oil in a GM engine, etc..

Smart recommends Mobil, Fiat his own (at the time) Selenia oil company, Mitsubishi doesn't bother and doesn't recommend anyone, lol
Fiat is actually recommending Selenia oils without giving full oil specs, very tiresome

Here in the South Pacific Mitsubishi have their own branded oils - MSL (Mitsubishi Synthetic Lubricant) in 5w30 and 5W-40 for DPF...it's Castrol. The Dia Queen trans oils come direct out of Japan. They also have their own petrol and diesel injector cleaner additives, and an intake cleaner for the GDI engines.
