What are you working on today?

It is finished. Painful to pull off the factory VW rotors and pads that had tons of life left, but that first squeal-free break in drive was music to my ears.

Went with Centric high carbon premium rotors and Bosch quiet cast ceramic pads.

Hopefully this ends my 30k mile torture from VW factory brake squeal. They were replaced under warranty at 12k and it immediately came back. I’ve been living with it for a while. An Immediate change with the aftermarket. Hopefully this does the trick.

Returned from a quick Dallas run.
Pressure washed the Craftsman riding mower with the spindle covers and engine cover removed. Replaced the oil fill o-ring. I noticed the spindles are not greasable, I may remove them and add zerk fittings and an exit hole in a later project.

Pressure washed the 1025R, engine bay, all the FEL pins were caked with dirt/grease. Re-greased everything, blew out the air filter. At 146.2 hours and no issues what so ever. Returning it to the ranch tuesday after work.

I previously (Thursday) replaced a leaking PS pressure line on the Suburban. After changing the line, the pump would not stop groaning/moaning or foaming its fluid. I figured pump was toast. Not too shocked. With having a leaking Hydroboost in 2023, then the reman-replacement leaking shortly after, and now a pressure line leaking... the pump is no virgin and unfortunately had been ran dry.

Bought a new pump. Swapped over the reservoir can and re-installed today. Filled with some TES-295 ATF. It bled great and the power steering is great. No more foam/bubbles in the tank and its quiet as can be.

The never-buy-a-Carry-On-trailer-from-TSC returned to me. Surprisingly, not for issues with initial build quality, and fortunately not for issues with my previous mods.

He wanted holders for rakes and weed eaters added and outlined how and where. I had some horse panel left over and used that for the upper dividers.

Down below he wanted another bar to loosely keep the handles in check. I added a couple 1/2" d-rings to the new crossmember. IME you can never have enough anchor points (shown pre-paint):

Weed eater holders -- I used 3/4" solid round

Good to see he put the previously-built basket to use. I removed this stuff 'cause welding near a plastic gas can just felt funny somehow:

Wow those look awesome!

I'll admit, I'm on my second Carry-On 5x8 trailer from TSC (a friend bought my first one) and I haven't had any issues, but if you need something for more than hauling lawn mowers and ATVs it is probably a good idea to look elsewhere. I do like how light my 5x8 trailer is though, I can pull it with my car or my Jeep and not even feel it back there. My grandfather has a very similar 6x8 he had a guy build for him, and while it is heavier duty it is so heavy I can barely push it around his driveway by hand.

This was a 5x8' I built up for our pastor in '20. It got a lot more custom touches like custom-bent front "bump rail" and rear "grab handles". I've got a die for 1/2" pipe for my bender.

Also expanded rather than horse panel, and the bottom was closed off solid with sheetmetal -- which is a ton of work to trim the sheetmetal around the wiring conduit, etc.

And custom spare tire mount as I hate all the flimsy ones you can buy. The bolt pattern is drilled on my mill with DRO and I use actual lugnuts so you've got a few spare lugnuts as well. I mock up the actual tire/wheel combo so it's tucked in tight without the inner sidewall rubbing on anything -- "preloading" sidewalls is a pet-peeve of mine

I did it for just materials cost and it took me WAY too long, but he loans it to anyone in the church who needs it.

Finishing up my 1/2 bath project. With some help from a retired plumber, we got the 3" line from the toilet to the main that goes to the septic.

Just gotta put the 1/4 round down and do some paint touch ups. Putting a little bathroom in a place that never was meant for one has been challenging, but just in the few short hours the thunderbucket has been installed it has been a great addition. No longer asking around before taking a shower if anyone has to use the restroom! Now onto repainting the kitchen cabinets and walls...

Do my eyes deceive me, or is that a Kohler cimmeron toilet?

Yup. This one came from Ferguson where you have to buy the bowl and tank separately odd enough. We have another Cimmeron in the main bath, but it's elongated and came in an all in one kit from Lowe's. Not sure what the differences may be. Pretty decent toilets.

Have one too - so light that I bring the trailer to the ball by hand - which is nice with all the nanny put a seatbelt on to move a foot 😵‍💫

We put two in our last house and had no trouble with them. I *just* installed the newest version in our “new to us” home in January, and it has a totally new bowl rinse pattern, that admittedly is quite cool. Shoots the water around more like an RV toilet.
