Transmission cooler lines on the Fusion

They were on borrowed time 😳

This spot on the transmission side of the cooler plumbing had me discouraged, I snagged a new Ford piece on eBay for a very good price, so it's all new

My first time using Fluid Film

I even removed the clips that retain moisture, and sprayed in there
When I scrape and paint the subframe, I'll follow with Fluid Film, unless a better product is available

Such a simple upgrade that completely transformed the way the sifting feels.

It’s a Genuine OEM Kia Cerato (Korean forte) 6 speed manual shifter knob. It also feels like it weighs near double of the US spec shifter. It’s so nice in the hand, and looks great!

2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, changed oil

After lunch I tore town a 307 small block Chevy. Buddy needs the rods and crank for a large journal 327 project he's putting together.

I forgot to post these from last Saturday. (It seems that I never have a day off.)

We had developed a bit of vibration at idle in our Chrysler (pretty common in this generation 200, Dart, Cherokee, and Renegade), so I replaced the Left side transmission mount, and right side engine mount. The torque strut underneath was fine, so it didn’t get changed. The vibration is gone now, not that it was horrible, but I wasn’t going to let it get to that point. You could see the tears in the rubber on the old ones, but it wasn’t near as bad as some that I’ve seen.

Sorry, I didn’t get too many pictures while working, I get too focused on the job at hand. In fact, I didn’t get any pics of the right side being done. 🙄
Oh well. 😉

All replaced with OE MOPAR parts.

The old ones laying out, ready to be recycled.

They have 5 of these holding the battery tray in, only one is in a reasonable location, the others leave you asking “why?”

Received a couple more kia parts in the mail.

Was able to find... AND order a oem leather boot directly from Kia in Korea.. The boot was listed for a Kia Cerato ( K3/Forte) thus the next idea(s)...

Also upgraded both of the Kia's emblems to the "K" emblem since the oem KIA emblems were looking worn

Finally completed the front suspension work on my nephew’s Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. New control arms, brakes, links, etc.

Right side went ok, but the left lower control arm eccentric bolts were seized into the bushings… my torch couldn’t heat that enough, I don’t have acetylene ( yet; this incident showed me I need it), and it finally gave when cut out with a large 7” cut off wheel.

I told him to get it to an alignment now, and don’t take it to work. The alignment bolts were marked but because of the new parts they likely aren’t where they should be… and they aren’t.

Today I have to replace 4 abs sensors on my brother’s Mercedes (he got it from me ).

'11 Forester rear brakes. I know rust belt guys will chuckle but this is the first time I've encountered slider pins that were simply frozen from rust. Just for giggles I finally got this one free by impacting in one direction until it spun quickly. At that point it would spin by hand but would NOT slide. I then impacted it in the reverse direction and then it would slide out.

Also the left rear caliper piston is seized. Also the first time I've encountered a piston that just will NOT retract even with a sliding F-clamp. In the past I've only faced pistons that will push in hard but still push in.

Vehicle came from WI, so, yeah.

I was initially planning new rotors, pads, abutment clips, slider pins and boots. After today's discovery add new caliper brackets and one new caliper. The other caliper piston moves smooth as butter and previous pad wear was even, so I'm inclined to leave well-enough alone.
