All those Jeep cute utes are disposable and were built with that intention. Even the KL Cherokee is questionable at best. People will keep them on the road longer because of higher initial cost, but they're just an over-sized car with AWD

Hers isn't even that nice. It's FWD only. (Her buying this wasn't my choice, if you can't tell)

I wouldn't say I'm a Stellantis hater, but anything they make is way down my list of things to be excited about. The mixture of Italian, German, and dumb American engineering just makes them pretty close to crap in my book.

Yep. I've owned Jeeps for most of my life, and I'd have a hard time considering anything past the 4.0L era of Jeeps. The WK2 Grand Cherokee with the 5.7L is probably the only one, and even that is something where you have to really like it to put up with its quirks.

The smaller CUVs are just awful. My sister wanted a Patriot for the longest time and we test drove one and I said absolutely not after the test drive.

Replaced the engine air filter in the VW Arteon just now. Eight T25 screws and you are in.
I installed this filter that claims a thousand more HP and a bunch of gobbly gook but actually was nicely priced and fit perfectly and looked high quality too. Just forget the bogus benefit propaganda..

Recharged the AC in the 78 F250. Still a little undercharged but I didn’t want to crack open another can and this Envirosafe doesn’t require as high of a pressure as R12/134a to adequately cool.

my son’s previous GF had one, and I spent a little time helping her with it. Agreed, it wasn’t my favorite, but I’ll give it this, the size and shape were very easy to get around in and had a lot of practicality. The body and chassis seemed very solid. But, she had a lot of problems with it, including the kind that left her stranded, with well under 100k miles on it.

son’s 2019 recently-acquired 4Runner with 92k miles. Our first fluid day!

oil change to 5-30 penzoil platinum
5.5 quarts ATF to maxlife with just a small splash of LG red
valvoline 75-90 synthetic into the rear diff and tcase

he remarks that it is an entirely different vehicle now. I regretted not driving it before for comparison. To me, the drive after felt and sounded like a new vehicle. He is thrilled, and while he doesn’t stay up nights dreaming of working under the hood, we both really enjoyed this day, a lot. It was good.

it gets brakes in a couple of months. RA pricing for Element3 pads looks really good, and I’m debating between centric or raybestos rotors, if he lets me pick them up for him.

What thermometer is that and do you like it? I just ordered one and finally decided on the inexpensive $8.50 vs a Robinair at $15. I figure they're kind of expendables and don't last forever or get broken or lost

It’s one of the large face Robinaire ones. I like it, a little easier to read due to size. Mostly the size has prevented me from leaving it in a customers vehicle. I probably lost at LEAST 3-4 that way.

The one I kick myself for losing is an old Bluepoint my grandpa had left in my first truck. I forgot and left it in the truck when I sold it

My first time touching a Mini.....not that it's ever been on my bucket list. Just an oil change, so no hardcore tech.

Another example of a vehicle with jacking points tucked up in relatively small windows in the rocker cladding. Had to use my pinch weld adapters again.

BUT my shortest adapter spacer was too tall, and no adapter meant the lift arm hit the rockers before engaging the pinch weld. So, we had to first drive it on to my tiny plastic "Vivohome" ramps from Amazon to gain some height, then I could stack adapters freely.

I replaced a rear hub on my Scion xB. I noticed a little wiggle when I did the brakes a couple of weeks ago so I decided to be proactive. Those bolts really didn’t want to come out.

Door that connects garage and house. Changed the locks last year and the new one always had to be shut a little hard but now it's really not catching. Gonna have to reseat the catch this weekend. Probably going to also change a caliper bracket on my F150. Had a slide pin that I had to beat the snot out of and the new pins are a whisker short (from Rock auto). Ordered more pins for both fronts, and a bracket for the stuck side. Ford wanted a kidney for a new bracket, so I ordered a reman through AAP for like 35$ but got motorcraft pins for 7$ a set, while the rock autos pins were from Goobersnotville China. So hopefully one of the sets of pins works in the new reman bracket......

Replaced front wheel hubs, spark plugs, plug wires, 2 coils, fuel filter, air filter and a heater hose connector I broke getting the wire of number 8 plug. Also changed the oil.
