Front brakes on a 2020 Chevy Equinox FWD. 38k on vehicle and front brakes look like they sat in Lake Erie for long time
That’s something I expect from a BHPH lot, or a dealership that does a lot of subprime and Uber/Lyft business. Also installed one of the security systems my dealer uses in a Subaru. It’s so they can cut the car off if you don’t make payments we put them on every car then turn the system off when the car is paid for.
I agree. And we have our own tow trucks too who go and get these shut off vehicles lol. I mean the dealership is so big so it’s probably a good thing to have we sell 10 different brands just in new cars and any brand used. Every new and used car gets it. What sucks is when it starts making the car mess up it’s especially bad about making Jeep’s mess up and not want to start up. Don’t know if it’s something different in a Jeep system or what but Jeeps do not like them at all. That’s something I expect from a BHPH lot, or a dealership that does a lot of subprime and Uber/Lyft business.
Cheaper than calling the repo man(and probably much safer too) but still. Banks need to watch their assets with certain clients.
FCA’s been installing a “security gateway” in response to a hacking attack some 6-7 years ago where someone found the cellular modem’s phone number, “dialed” into the car and interacted with it with simple AT commands but also found the commands to start/stop the engine and a few other things. Not shocked if the Jeep doesn’t use a discrete 12V signal to energize the starter relay.I agree. And we have our own tow trucks too who go and get these shut off vehicles lol.
