What are you working on today?

I'm totally ignorant when it comes to hybrids; that inverter radiator - can it be repaired at a local radiator shop?

Edit: Never mind. Just came across your follow-up post. It's nice when the customer doesn't squawk about the price and just wants it fixed.
I wondered about repair, too. I'm not sure if it can be repaired when one of the horizontal tubes has been punctured?

Regardless, the safest bet for me and lowest probability of a comeback is a new radiator, and since the customer was fine with it, that's what I did. Plus I don't have to take it to a rad shop and return to pick it up. We used to have a rad shop but I'm 80% sure they closed. I imagine this is a dying market for all the same reasons many skilled trades are fading away.

Got Techstream working and connected it to the 2000 Camry with the misfire. It didn't tell me anything that I didn't already know, but it does do individual cylinder misfire and bidirectional testing, so I can do things like turning on the fuel pump without cranking the engine, which is nice. Wish I had this earlier, but isn't helping with the existing issue.

Put a fence up for my wife for Mothers Day. She wants to plant roses and flowers but our neighbors don’t seem to understand you shouldn’t walk across other peoples yards. We’ll be gone for 4 weeks but start planting when we get back.

Patched up the RV corner I hit a long time ago with new Eternabond and Duck Coat. Stupid me should have fixed back then but didn’t realize how bad it was. Forum isn’t letting me post a after

Cleaned and relubed the fronts brakes on RV. Yearly chore or should be. Put a few pumps in the upper lower and tie rod while I was at it.

Think I’m done for the day!

Kind of a bummer. I want an outside pad with low-roof shed to store my rider, in the back yard. The yard is small, and I want a place where the neighbors won’t have to look at it. Found a corner, dug the ground, leveled the sand, laid out a 4x8 set of pavers. Then hate it.

Wife is looking at me with concern like, “i truly don’t understand men.”

Can’t really undo it.

Wife is looking at me like, “I’m ignoring that you are an aesthetic idiot, is he ok and should I call someone?”

So I save a little maple tree sapling and transplant it to our very boring front yard. It’s never seen direct wind before, so it gets bracing.

That’s it. That’s all I’ve got. Want the tree to live. It’s got soil from its original spot, plus some food and conditioner left from another thing.

Good fences make good neighbors. Or for me, being on 35 acres with no direct line of sight for neighbors means they can't complain about what I do (because people will complain about things that don't affect them in any way)

Finished up my neighbors 2004 Highlander

Cabin air filter (replaced missing door)
Engine air filter (zip tied busted housing to seal tight)
3x wiper blades (plus the always broken rear arm hinge cover)
OE Toyota stop lamp switch and stopper
Clean throttle body
Clean battery terminals and coat with Noalox + Fluid Film
Air and remount spare tire to prevent clunking

A friend's 2020 Fusion (1.5 EB/60k) pulled up
Oil change (Total MC3 5w30/910s)
Cabin filter
Front pad slap (OE Motorcraft)
A dab of CRC brake lube on the ears, and a dab of PTFE Silicone on the slide pins

A different friend's daughter has a 2020 Elantra that randomly had a soaking wet passenger floor board, that I was unable to duplicate (there was residual moisture)
I washed out the moonroof drains with LAs totally awesome and a gallon of water, made sure those were flowing nicely
I gave the cowl drains the same treatment, and I vacuumed/washed/compressed air cleaned the corners of the cowl, where I suspect leaves and pollen accumulate
I also took compressed air to the A/C evaporator drain, and verified it was flowing nicely
Then I took it through a car wash to see if I can recreate it

It was bone dry 🤷‍♂️
I told them to keep an eye on it
Or maybe the daughter left a window/sunroof open, or maybe left a water bottle cap loose and didn't want to admit it 🤔

Wife's '08 F150:
-greased Icon UCAs (already installed when we bought it)

-new front pads and rotors
-replaced hard line from master cylinder to HCU. A long time ago @bdcardinal helped me with the part # for the necessary hard line. Had previously been worn down by poor fit of aftermarket CAI (also already there when we bought it). I had already clearanced the filter enclosure here but worn line is visible:

One of the front bleeders snapped off in caliper. I was able to get it out with the Lisle torx-esque extractors:

We've had a new clunk under the truck. While bleeding the rear this caught my eye as not right. Broken rear leaf. I'll order new u-bolts Monday and grab a 3" leaf from my pile

Installed the cheap, aftermarket wheel well liner on my Mini after the original was damaged. It’s like putting SaranWrap in there instead. But it should work. The original was damaged and half missing. If it bothers me too much I’ll find an original from a wrecked car.

Installed new cruise control steering wheel buttons on my Mercury. The original set is the basic setup but had worn out and some functionality was gone. Cruise worked, but you couldn’t adjust speed. It was set to what you set when starting out.

The eBay set I got was from a Town Car, so it had additional functionality like audio volume adjustment and temperature control for the climate control.

Removed and reinstalled in about 45 minutes, taking my time. Cruise control now works as designed, as the set I bought included the wiring harness. The audio controls are a bit fiddly, but work when pressed in the right spots. Same with temperature control. But those were secondary and not my primary concern. 😎

Scrubbed it with spray and forget (don’t use if you have paint!). Gave the whole thing 4 layers of Zepp wet look floor polish. I can barely feel my arms to type this! Now to buff and wax the cab. Some guys have hot rods this is mine.. it may cost as much but at least it has a toilet!

Experimenting with self-fusing repair tape before I replace the hoses. Never used it and I had a split hose and some tape on the shelf. Yes, it actually works. ~20 miles or so and a 13psi system.
