I'm watching the car chase from 'The Seven-Ups' (1973). It's a 10-minute chase with big Pontiac cruisers through uptown NYC. The movie was directed by Philip D'Antoni who produced Bullit, The French Connection. 'The Seven-Ups' was his directorial debut and swansong. The movie is worth watching if you like gritty big-city movies about corrupt cops from the '70s. The cast includes Roy Scheider, Richard Lynch, Bill Hickman, etc.

I'm watching a video I've watched at least a 100x before. It never fails to tug at the heart strings. Sleep Token is my favorite band, and this song is among my favorites from them. This is just their lead singer (stage name, Vessel) and a piano in a beautiful rendition of their song "Blood Sport." Don't let the mask deceive you. He wears it (in his own words) to give focus to the music and message rather than himself, thus hiding his identity. This band is very versatile in their songwriting, blending elements of classical, alternative, hip-hop, R&B, jazz, and blues alongside rock and metal. They don't have a set genre. Songs like this one are an example of deep, deep lyrics that come across on a personal level, as if we're seeing a glimpse through the window of the emotional waiting room of this man's mind. There's a lot of theological undertones. Anyway, enjoy. It doesn't matter what kind of music you're into, Sleep Token has something that connects.
