What are you eating right now?

Coffee with 2% milk. Then I'll have 2 small protein shakes for the day. Then a 1.75 mile walk later on., and a Nutribullet shake for dinner. Had back surgery so really can't exercise, or do much of anything else. Pounds pack on quick if you don't watch at my age ( 58 )

I could have you eating 3lbs of food a day and still cut weight if you want to eat..

That's ok. Thanks. I'll pass. Doctor's order's. Have some serious Thyroid issues being worked on right now, slowing down my metabolism. Stems from a lesion on my Pituitary gland ( inoperable). Probably a side effect from working the Twin Towers 9/11 for 2 months. Not cancerous, that's all I care about. Been battling my Thyroid for 10 years. They won't cut it out because it's not " Hyperthyroidism",,,,always " Hypothyroidism"..Basically, I can just look at food and gain 5 lbs because of this problem. Brain MRI's every year to monitor Pituitary gland, or as they say " The Master Gland " Controls everything in the Endocrine System. I'm not you're typical case. But thanks.

Right best to listen to Doctors orders

Been able to get the blood sugar spot check under 100-110. My drop times are moving back in, and have not been eating much stupid stuff that launches my glucose up to 200+. Scary, but the good news, after eating, maybe 140-170, then hour one 135, hour two 120 or lower. I've been fasting today, I'll check in an hour or so. I was playing pickleball, then hauling bricks and running with doggo and I'm sure glucose is a bit elevated (yes never check BS right after exercise)

Anyway, the crap diet is done for me. I cannot scare my doctor like that again. She might pass out, and then what?

Quickie lunch. Doesn't look like the box picture.

All in moderation or so they say what does that even mean.

Pretty much goes like this. When you're young, you can eat anything ( unless you already have medical conditions). I went for years without a physical or blood work when I was young. Didn't even have a doctor to go to. If I got sick bad, went to an Urgent Care Type of place. Did that for at least 20 years. Then I hit mid 40's. That's when problems started rearing their ugly head. Had to get a regular doctor, then got worse as I got older, had to see specialists. But, in the end, I have to be here for my young daughter, and I want to collect my well earned pension check. So, I will see the doctor's, do as they say, and stay alive as long as possible. I'll be 59 in a few months. My family needs me upright.

I don’t have to worry. kale and spinach salad , a nice bone in chicken breast, chicken broth. Some multi color cauliflower too. Lots ice water. Holding at 267lbs. Want to lose more

That to me is bad thinking what I know now and taking care of myself at a very young age I probably would have. Doctors had us eating tons of carbs sugar and processed dinners were good for you fat was demonized protein was never talked about and for sure you will die if you eat red meat. I was fat as heck till I was about 40 i was lucky I figured it out early enough now at 52. I changed my ways said I'm looking at other was of course I evolved over the years and led me to my present state but it wasn't because I took advice of Doctors some are coming around but many are in the wallets of big pharma.
At the end taking care of yourself at a young age would reap huge benefit you wouldn't be or possibly be in the shape your in at a older age I was lucky and caught it early enough to change. It's terrible thinking you can do whatever you want when you are young and think it's age that was the problem when you get older and failing you set yourself up at a early age to fail.

My wife and I went out to dinner with my brother and his wife our September mid month tradition we do for a couple of decades. Our little little tradition to celebrate life. We went to a Italian restaurant only a few minutes away. It's family style we ordered a cold antipasto and Caesar salad . Then penne all vodka and a veal dish. A couple of bottles of wine and lots of laughs, good stories and a few tears. I'm great full for having them in my life

Hey @nickaluch has anybody ever mistaken you for John Smoltz? Your profile pic bears a striking resemblance to him.
As a miserable Met fan for decades no one has ever told me that thankfully I couldn't walk the streets around my town Smoltz was a Met slayer. I don't have the beard now that was a thing my nephew got me into some month you don't shave and I ran with it longer than I should of. I might do it again this year that was the first one I ever grew
