Dim sum. Very nostalgic. Brings back those VB6 days.Only one dish I didn't care for. Their version of ribs, was too liquidy, strange flavor with some type of bean mass at the bottom. Not my thing. I love the dry ribs, or the garlic ribs. I thought that this is what I was ordering but my Chinese is really rusty.

BC, Canada?Dim Sum in Canada
The first couple plates. Gai lan and pork filled pastries
Then they brought so many plates I stopped taking pictures.
Not free, left my Patman app at home. Total was $62 US, but was a lot of food.
I prefer to get Chinese food recommendations from @AutoMechanic . His Chinese food palate and mine align.Last time I had dim sum was in Victoria in Chinatown on Fisgard St. It was authentically seedy. Some of it was pretty good. Some was kinda bland, but I feel that way about a lot of "authentic" Chinese food. The chicken feet dish was a little too toothsome for my taste.
Of all the dim sum I have had, I liked the hole in the wall place my wife's uncle took us to in Honolulu's Chinatown the best. Amazing pastries. A water pipe in the men's was leaking so the floor of the kitchen where you had to walk through to reach it was wet. Still the best food. They had a pot for parboiling rice that looked like it had a hundred pounds of rice cooking in it.
I also can't believe no one got my "dim sum" programming joke.![]()
I'm sure you've had enough "authentic" Asian food to last several lifetimesI prefer to get Chinese food recommendations from @AutoMechanic . His Chinese food palate and mine align.

It's apparently a cultural thing. But same here, which is why I never got into Seinfield. I do kind of like Jon Stewart though he has some of that cultural influence enmeshed (especially in his stand up, which I've seen. I don't identify with either the left or the right politically btw).Thanks. I never really got his style of neurotic NY humor, though. It always just seemed like he and other similar comedians (like Woody Allen) just play someone who suffers from an under developed sense of embarrassment and propriety.
Yeah, he's another one I just don't "get." I don't appreciate his commentary, either, as I find he is usually just parroting a narrative. It's apparently a cultural thing.
