What are you eating right now?

Late dinner is cream of porcini mushroom soup. Probably my favorite soup, thick and creamy with that great porcini flavor. I bought a few pounds of fresh porcini mushrooms last fall. I sliced them thin and dried them for later use. I keep them in metal tin. I rehydrate them before using them. I also grind them and use them in a spice shaker on pasta, rice, and egg.

My neighbor came over with a slice of Schubert's raspberry cake as a little thank-you gift. The other day, my neighbors had locked themselves out of their house and I climbed up to a second floor bedroom window, managed to slide it open without damaging it, get in, and open the door for them. So I'm having a delicious brunch consisting of cake and coffee. That's my kind of Treet, I mean treat.
