Another two omelet morning.



First omelet I ordered extra well done. When server delivered the omelet, it was uncooked in the middle. Walked the omelet back to the kitchen and informed cooks. They simply have no idea what they are doing, five-star hotel.



Walked to another restaurant in the hotel, and they did deliver a cooked through omelet.



It is really critical to have food cooked thoroughly here. Especially a product like eggs. Basic food protection handling standards are non-existent. Cooking foods area a way to mitigate the rampant unsafe food handling.



The indigenous people either don't eat foods Westerners eat, or have built immunity to the ever-present food borne pathogens.

I ask for extra well done, and no issues with brown marks. Do to significantly higher risk to food borne pathogens where I am working, having food thouroughly cooked is important in deliberate reduction in food borne pathogen risk.

Mangosteen tastes like???
Like nothing else on earth, but does share some flavors as a passion fruit.

Mangosteen is sweet, but not mango sweet. Has a touch of a sour to balance. Really good.

When I first tried mangosteen a few years ago, I found out why the fruit is rarely discussed. Mangosteen is tought to grow outside of SE Asia. Some people tried growing mangosteen in Miami, FL-- but no success. The tree often takes ten years to grow before bearing fruit. Finally, mangosteen is no very persihable, typically requires consumption shortly after picking.
 
First lunch! How many lunches do you generally eat per day?
Only on Saturdays I eat two, because I go out for dinner with my girlfriend and we usually don’t eat until 7, but with my normal fasting schedule I usually eat my dinner at 2:00! So on Saturdays I have a lunch around 11 and another around 2 or 3 and then dinner at 7. They are usually just two small lunches though. This afternoon I will probably get medium fries from Wendy’s because they are 99 cents here for the next two weeks to celebrate Wendy’s being in Canada for 50 years. I think we are going to a Mexican restaurant in Niagara Falls tonight so I will probably get a chicken quesadilla 😋
