What a miserable weekend

I read in the news about a guy in the back office at Home Depot who would bring the money to the bank to deposit. He supposedly bought counterfeit money on Amazon and swapped it for the real money before doing the deposit. It went on for awhile $350,000 before being caught. Who would have thought you could buy counterfeit money on Amazon. Of course parts of the news article could be in error. But the guy was arrested that isn't in doubt.

Cash is king. Here on out any large bill I get: it’s gettin checked at my credit union. No if and or buts
Isn't that too late?

Maybe either a UV bill checker or some other type of equipment to check the bills. The UV you can carry around, the bill checker including magnet, watermark and microprint, by the time you check it at home, it's too late.

Im surprised his scam lasted as long as it did. How stupid.

Dont mess with the Secret Service and Uncle Sam’s money….

for past 7 years i've been working in banking industry; those $100 bills they are very hard to come by especially that design from 2013

on the other hand, you see those $20, $10, or $5 fake notes all the time

I can say after reading 3 pages of this thread; I’ve never ever felt like I’m on trial for doing something good. Over 11 people commenting think I’m a scam artist. I’m simply shocked and appalled. The posters know who they are also.

Are you saying they're hard to come by as counterfeits? Thankfully I never really encounter them, if I do I must pass them off to someone else without ever knowing about it.

Yes that’s what I’ve meant!

There is a marker to buy so you can check all bills on your own

I'm a truck driver with a passport and these are all fake scenarios that don't exist anymore. Visited Serbia and Jamaica last year. There's also nothing wrong with a first world perspective because I live in the first world.
Those are most certainly not “fake scenarios”, those are actual things that happened to me.

Your comment is like hearing a guy saying that he doesn’t need a spare tire, because he’s never had a flat.

Whether you’ve had a need for cash, or not, your perspective fails to consider when cash might be needed.

Even in the first world.
