I posted some time back about returning to 5W30 after a one-time run of M1 0W40 in my Infiniti. I had a jug of QSUD 5W30 that I used up and the engine's noisier now. It wasn't this noisy when I ran 5W30 during previous winters. What could a one-time run of 0W40 have done that caused this to happen?

You see, I did just that with PYB 10-30 1 qt used to top off a 10k+ "run" of Val 5w30 (see sig) and it did the same darn thing, put a silencer on that revolver!! and that just 1 quart bottle. Imagine an entire fill of 10-30 or your fav visc. PYB or is the magic just with the 10-30?!

Here we go again...

BTW you can't silence a regular revolver.

+1.....When I switched from M-1 0w20 AFE.... to QSUD 0w20....my vehicle quieted down considerably and runs very smoothly.

I can't explain the reason (both oils were 0w20), but the change in brand made a heck of a difference in running smoother and quieter.

Yep, same Nissan filter. And I ran QSUD 5W30 before and it was, like others have said, a quiet oil.

It's in almost every thread...

I think that a fresh fill of any oil is usually quieter than the outgoing oil in a lot of cases.

Also, yes, this thread did escalate fast. I know when I see 06VtecV6 in a thread there's a pretty good chance of a plug for PYB 10w-30.
