Good point, that concrete around the pipe did not look right to me and I was wondering why or how the pipe might be affected. I also wondered about the pressure of expanding and contracting concrete do to temperature extremes affect on the pipe. Wife worked for the gas company for 17 years, I showed her the photo of the meter and she said that's not to code. The pipe is going to corrode where it's in contact with the cement. Should have been sleeved or boxed. Your gas company could make you correct it.
