I have a Genesis with the stainless grates and I really like it. I got it used from someone who got a green egg and "couldn't bring themselves to cook on gas anymore". Paid $200. I'd keep an eye out for a nice used one.

Have you considered one with the side burner? I have a 15 year old Genesis with the side burner and I find it really handy to saute some foods on the side (grilled onions caramelized to perfection, etc.) while I'm cooking my steaks, etc.

I've got that exact grill, it is a year old now. We've been thru many grills that just seem to fall apart, rust out and just feel flimsy. I am happy we spent the extra money for this grill because the quality is very good and I see it lasting a long time. The controls feel good and it is sturdy. No complaints yet.
