Weapon Shield Is Back!

American Patriot to be exact! This is what makes this Country Great. We still a choice. Hopefully that will continue past November 2024
Just some history. Didn't give it much thought until I purchased a Dan Wesson years ago and their recommendation for Lubricant was FP-10. The first Product developed by George Fennell. I did some research and decided there is some good science behind the more expensive lubricants. After George sold FP10 to another company I believe the formula was changed. It did not seem to perform as well. At that point I switched to M-Pro7 made by Pantheon for several years. Pantheon and Bushnell parted ways. Pantheon kept the formula and Bushnell kept the name. So the current M-Pro7 Products being sold today are NOT the original formula. Pantheon is now selling the original formula under the name of Pantheon Premium. After the Pantheon/Bushnell split I found Weapons Shield and have been using it ever since. I trust the science behind George's Product. Could I have saved some money over the years, Yeah. But I don't buy cheap AMMO either. For everything else I own, I use Amsoil. My 3 cents! All that said, We Still have a choice. God, I love this Country.
Don't Tread On Me!
Wait, which Dan Wesson did you buy?

I had a few issues with my 10mm Razorback, which I detailed in the following thread, and which may have been related to lubrication.

It runs great now. And it’s a great gun. But there was a bit of a journey to get it to that point.

Hoppes smells sweet to me but I’m old
Get you a couple of these to hang around your house.

DW has a long history of issues with galling. The main problem is they have tried to emulate Les Baer in the tightness department and it's not a good idea with SS. Baer doesn't even offer their tighter accuracy spec on SS models, with good reason.

I just wanted to come in here say THANK YOU to those who have been able to successfully bring back Weapon Shield to market. I’d really like to see it back on Amazon, because it had rave reviews there and that’s where I would always order it, but I’m super ecstatic we can finally buy it again. I had bought 6x 16oz bottles back about 4-6+ yrs ago, and they have served me well over tens of thousands of rounds fired but the bottle cap broke on one allowing it to become exposed to the elements. And while it’s survived and still actually works, it was time to get a few new bottles and when I went to go look I had no idea that WS was no longer on Amazon and the company was essentially defunct. However after all this time it’s finally back and I’m so glad because it BY FAR supersedes any other lubricant I’ve used to make the guns as slick as possible, and it smells great, and doesn’t burn off when running say 1000-1500 rounds in a one-two day class. The ONLY substitute I’ve been using has been Gunfighter Gun oil for lubrication as it’s the only one I’ve seen come even close to how slick weapon shield is in terms of metal on metal contact and it’s 100% synthetic so it won’t gun up from leaving your gun untouched for months on end in a safe for example. For cleaning, I still have some of the OG weapon shield solvent but it’s almost gone, and I’ve since been using Clenzoil for carbon cleanup, copper fouling, and barrel/bore cleanup & lubrication. Everything else I lube with weapon shield (and then as I said substituted to Gunfighter Gun Oil because WS wasn’t available.) I also trust Shooter Lube oil, but primarily use their solvent as it’s by far the BEST solvent I’ve ever used. However it’s sooooo good at its job, I don’t recommend it for cleaning your bore because you really gotta make sure your bore/barrel is lubed properly because it’s so drying. Hence why I stick to the clenzoil because it’s a CLP and I don’t have to use a ton to recoat the barrel once I snake it. That said, now that weapon shield is back on the market, I’ll be picking up a few bottles from mastergun199 dot com because they’ve got the cheapest shipping option. Really hoping it’s the exact same formula, because man, you put some of that OG weapon shield on the trigger bar for my glocks or the sear/trigger bar interaction on my M&P 2.0’s and it’s a NOTICEABLE difference on how smooth it makes the metal to metal surfaces glide… more so than any other lubricant I’ve ever used… like it legit is instantly noticeable on my slide movement and trigger pull/feel. The combination of shooter lube solvent for cleaning, Clenzoil bore coating for lubeing the bore, and weapon shield for the slide and outer barrel and trigger components means my guns have had almost 0 malfunctions in tens of thousands of rounds over the last few years and I can’t wait to get more weapon shield in. If you can’t tell I’m a huge fan 😆
