Water softener making my water bill very high?

I’ll have to read the owners manual. It seems to regenerate every other morning. Not sure if that’s normal or not.

Normal if you are using lots and lots of water. Ask the local utility department what your water hardness is and then see if the softener is programmed correctly.

He mentioned earlier that it was running every other day. There's no way that's programmed correctly, I don't think I can even make my softener regenerate that often regardless of the hardness setting.

I checked it the other day, it said “next regeneration in two days”. So it’s not doing it every other day. I grabbed the owners manual...didnt get a chance to look through it yet.
