My daughter spilled water on my steering column and some went into the hole where you put your key at(ignition switch). Should I worry how much went in or spray a little WD40 to displace the moisture?

Thanks. it's on a 08 Vibe, and the swith is on a 45 angle on the column.

dont worry by now its gone the ignition switch will not hold water however if it was a sweetened drink it could cause the pins to stick.. wd-40 will not hurt in a matter of fact if you give it a short spray twice a year that would be good for it,, i always shake the can first

The 'switch' on the steering colume isn't a switch at all, it's just the 'lock'.
The switch is down near the bottom of the colume on most cars.
Contact cleaner and then WD-40 or similar should solve any problem before it starts.
My 2¢

I'd spray a little WD40 in and around it.
But even if you don't , the water will evaporate and it is not likely any harm could come of this.
