Hi,

I have applied Zaino to two vehicles, a silver 2004 saab 9-3 and a blue 1982 MB 300CD. Both look great and are really smooth and nice. Both were washed in dawn and clayed, Zpaint prep, ZAIO, Z5pro in two coats with ZFx then two coats of Z2 about a week or two apart.

On both cars, what Ive noticed is that there become spots where the water prefers to run. Im talking on the vertical surfaces mainly, not the horizontal ones. And the lines where water falls down start to get a different look.

Also, not sure if others note this, but the spots where water sits due to, say, morning condensation, and spots where birds leave their mark, also start to bead differently. Dont see that really with say, collinite, until much later in time.

But mainly it is odd to see the difference in the vertical panels where water drips versus not. And the water after a time still leaves dampnes in those lines. When dry you dont really see it, but any moisture, and it appears. It looks like the zaino has started to wear away in those spots (though it feels super-smooth still).

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

Unlike most waxes Zaino crosslinks. This means fallout sits on top of Zaino and doesn't get absorbed into the wax matrix.

I understand crosslinking, but this IMO has nothing to do with the water rejection pattern or the drip lines which are constantly wet when the rest of the car is dry, due to it being the preferential spot for water to flow...

Unless the products didn't crosslink there and so the surface is more conducive to water contact...

All I can add is I use Z2-pro about every 6months and never have any issues. It always beads up nicely.

I will say I have noticed that bird droppings do affect the coating in some way. The water does bead different only spots where dropping sat for an extended period.
