Found some Warren-Unilube 10W-30 motor oil in an old mom & pop grocery store for $2.50 a quart. Its API approved and ILSAC GF-5 approved. I contacted Warren Unilube headquartered out of West Memphis, Arkansas and talked to the vice president of the company and he says it's as good as any top name brand conventional motor oils. He even emailed me the MSDS, specs, lubrication warranty, etc. I've always used synthetics, but these prices are kind of hard to pass on as I believe synthetics are a little too much overkill for my 2 vehicles; 2009 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3 flex fuel V8 & a non turbo 1998 Volvo S-70 2.4 liter inline 5 cylinder. Would any of you use this motor oil?

Yes. Warren makes private label oil for many sellers, including Walmart Supertech in some parts of the country.

Is 2.50 really that great of a price? No, I guess I wouldn't. I buy conventional when it's under a buck a quart, and synthetic under 2.50.

Maybe in a pinch?

Well, down here in Texas that is cheap. I have never saw motor oil down here for under a dollar a quart, not even clearance stuff.

Sure, I would use it. I have used their products before.

That's a different Warren. This one is the one that makes the Coastal brand oil at Autozone.

really? That's some crazy confusion.....surely they're related "somewhere" down the line....? Lol...

Warren Performance Packaging and Warren-Unilube are not the same company nor are they linked in any way.
WPP makes Super Tech,not Warren-Unilube.

WPP also makes their own brands,Accel,Polar and Mag1.WPP is a private company based in Nebraska and is family owned.
