Late last week I purchased some Redline D6 ATF on Amazon; 5 quarts to be exact. I received them quickly, this past Wednesday, only to find out that the package was leaking... uh oh... It turns out that one of the quarts had the cap popped off and the foil seal was leaking very slowly. I'd say that 90% of the fluid was still in the bottle, but I didn't like what I saw. So I rang up Amazon customer service, described my situation, gave them my order number, and within 5 minutes the friendly customer service agent decided to mail me another quart free of charge with express 2-day shipping. And I did indeed get it in 2 days, as it arrived today intact. This item did ship from an Amazon warehouse, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference. I just wanted to mention a good experience I had. I should also note that I never had to request that the replacement item be free (although I did expect it to be), nor did I ask for expedited shipping. But I got it anyway. Kudos to Amazon!

FWIW, I'm going to use that 90% full bottle of D6 in my Focus as part of the next drain/fill. Might as well put it to good use.

+1

BUT the Amazon.ca here in Canada sucks. It's night and day, compared to the real one in the US. Sometimes the shipping is more than the price of what you bought........really.

Amazing customer service at Amazon.com

yes, Amazon is great, I always had good and fast resolutions for damaged or missing items. But it only happened couple of times. And i order lots of stuff thru them.

Amazon has great customer services, sometimes they bend-over-backward to satisfy customers.

One in a while they have some items at extremely low price at less than 25-30% regular price, if you order it before they recognize their pricing error they will honor the price. But they will not match the lower price if you order it and then price drop.

I think the actual, genuine complaints with Amazon are miniscule compared to the endless number of trouble-free transactions. Some categories of products have some issues, but overall Amazon is top-notch.

Here is an Amazon seller dilemma. I sold two new harddrives on Amazon, one a desktop and one a laptop. Unfortunately I swapped the harddrives in the boxes so each got something they did not order. One went to a forwarding company who forwarded it to Chile where the buyer lives. The buyer in Chile is not happy. I offered to refund his money if he returns the harddrive. But because of the forwarding cost and taxes, it not worth it to him, but he complained to Amazon anyway. While I certainly made a mistake, I am not sure how to handle the forwarding issue. I think he would like a refund without returning the hardrive.

I've had nothing but good service from Amazon.

It was your error, and it's up to you to make it right. You'd expect the same from any other business who sent you the wrong product-when you screw it up you make it right, period.

Welcome to the world of doing business.

Yep,

You pay 100% of the cost to correct your mistake.
Sometimes you have to eat the loss and just double check before you ship.

I ordered 4 quarts of Honda MTF from Amazon and I notice the will put each quart in a zip lock bag so if there is a leak it won't damage the other stuff you ordered.

I got the Prime membership, which makes Amazon even better, worth it in my opinion. Don't need to wade into Costco lineups and get most stuff in 2 days, free with the membership.

Disclaimer: Here in Canada we're used to sh*tty service, so when we get a taste of good service it's really appreciated.

A good seller would pay for return shipping or state just keep it. I purchased something on ebay that was not correct item that was shipped to me. The buyer paid for ship back and full refund of all my costs.

Amazon Prime saves me so much time and money. No wasted time and my fuel. Even paying $4 for next day air is worth vs driving/wasting the fuel if I need ASAP.

This is 1 example that as a Amazon customer I have all satisfaction warranty from buying from Amazon or Amazon Market Place.

If an Amazon Market Place seller didn't do it right Amazon will make it right for buyer.

I do not think Amazon would replace it unless the item was returned to them. They would probably cover shipping both ways. But I do not think Amazon would cover the forwarding and customs fees. The delivery address I sent it to was in Florida. From there is was forwarded to Chile (unknow to me).

I think you should refund full purchase price (include shipping cost to Florida) and return shipping cost from Florida, after you inspect the drive to make sure that it is the one that you sold.

You're not responsible with forwarding cost from Florida to Chile and any/all Chile custom fee(s).

That would be far. But I do not think the buyer wants to return it.
