So I went to my car in their lot and poured it into the empty 5 qt jug I was going to recycle at the garbage recycling center. Walked in, and said I neede to recycle that oil. Guy said, "OK" and took it. LOL Idiots.

Actually,he's probably just the opposite of an idiot. I think it is safe to say what you were asking him to do was against corporate policy. Personally, I can't blame him for valuing his job more than your little red gas can filled with used oil. His job is what feeds his family, not your red can.

+1

Shops already make very little money on oil changes as it is with rising costs of capital and labour.

You have Walmart change your oil?

Moderators, please remove this member from the forum LOL.

I changed my oil last night, took like 10 minutes and a 14mm wrench.

There is no liability AFAIK on WM for cust. supplied oil and filter. We would just note in the comment of the work order that it was a cust. supplied filter (instead of noting the oil filter # and page number where we found the lookup).

The person that refused is just lazy or they were really busy and looking for an excuse to drop load.

That's why I do the basic maintenance myself. I always say my vehicles are like my wife, no one goes under the hood but me!
