Walmart work boots

Yep, I'll definitely be sticking to my Carolina's. I tried the redwings, and those god awful flat soled Thorogood boots. These are almost 2 years old and still comfortable. I don't feel so bad about dropping $275 on them anymore!

Something's been digging-into your heel. See how the leather near that hole is indented.
Those boots look more abused, than worn put prematurely. They probably never saw an ounce of boot treatment or polish either.

I work on my feet 11 hrs per day 5 days a week, so i am pretty sure that did it. I do think that I probably got alot of life out of it for it being a bottom line work boot.

I would take better care of work boots that I want to hold on to for awhile. It is obvious that the the sole separating from the heal is a design flaw which should never happen with 2 months of use. Im sure this boot has fake leather I mean it's $20-40 at Walmart. I didn't expect them to hold me over but it does show that the materials used are not the greatest of quality with the price point in mind.

Growing up my Dad was in construction and he always bought Red Wing boots. He would get 2-3 years out of a pair with daily wear. I currently have two pairs of Red Wing boots that I alternate.

You will pay for them ($200+ for a pair).

I always wore Georgia Boot steel toes with the wide toe. Loved them.

There are several brands of quality USA made boots out there that will last and that are also comfortable. Thorogood, Redwings, Chippewa, Justin, and Carolina. I've owned Thorogood, Redwings, and Carolina. All of them were quality boots. The top foreign made brand that I owned were Timberland Pro.
Thorogood makes boots that have several sole designs, you are not limited to the wedge sole.

Thanks for the suggestions on work boots. I am probably going to go with what's worked in the past and go from there. Redwing, wolverine, carolina, timberlands have all done me well. I will have to settle on one of these. Too much variety to choose from lol

+1 and/or most Walmart brand stuff are cheaply made. For some that do not wear boots very often they would be fine.

I did loosen my shoe laces before pulling it off my foot it did catch a little. I've done this with all my work boots and never once has this happened. I even tried to do it with the other one that didn't rip and it wouldn't rip like the other side. So the boot itself was a defect where the sole meets the leather.

20 years ago I bought a pair of no-name cowboy boots at Walmart for $30. Made in Mexico and of excellent quality. Leather soled, full leather upper inside and out. Still got 'em, I cleaned them up and they're now my "fancy dress" boots.
They also used to sell a model of Herman Survivors that were very good but discontinued the model maybe 15 years ago.

I have a pair of the Herman Survivor square toe cowboy boots and a set of ankle high Brahma lace up boots from walmart. I love my square toes. They are actual leather, steel toe, and very comfy. I've had them for a few years now and they get a good wipe down every now and then. However, the very first pair of these boots had separation from the sole BRAND NEW....So you have to be on the lookout for that. The Brahma boots are my winter motorcycle boots. I like them a lot for the Thinsulate lining, steel toe, ankle protection, and since they are fake leather, they just wipe clean when they get dirty. Now, these are not used as full on work boots, but for the price I paid and the use I've gotten from them, I am satisfied.

I used to buy 2-3 pairs of cheap boots from Walmart because I work outside and the boots would get wet and muddy everyday. One set of boots would not do since U cannot clean and dry leather boots every night for tue next day. I would rotate my boots to avoid atheletes feet abd to keep my feet somewhat dry. I would replace those boots once per yr. Now I buy one nice pair of well fitting rubber boots, stay dry and clean and wear simple slip on shoes between work sites to avoid a muddy vehicle. Live and learn. I will add that I used to own a pair of Vasque Vagabon II made by Redwing with Italian leather. Those boots were mountaineering boots and lasted from 1993-2015!!! Now I heard that Redwing was sold to either China or Korea and are not near the quality they used to be.
