Yep, thats right! Was in there today, and noticed a full shelf of MC filters and some MC oil. Being leary that it was backstock, I asked the girl at the auto counter. She said that MC realized that people were not going to go out of their way, and pay what MC wanted them to pay for their products. She said they are bringing back all MC filters and oil!

Prices have gone up a little however... Filters $3.24, not sure on the oil, I was just happy to see the filters back!

I really like the Motorcraft filters.. I noticed that my Wal Mart was stocking them again too. Haven't seen the MC oils back yet but I did like that oil too.

Why would anybody go to the Ford dealership to buy oil ?????

Well, I think that anyone going to the dealer for an oil change won't be buying it at Wally World anyway ..except for make up oil. That's such a rare thing these days ..that I don't think that it cuts into the dealers margin too much. There are enough Ford spec oils on the market now to cut the dealer's throat anyway.

Pottstown, PA WallyWorld is again stocking the MC oil and filters. Price is up to $3.28, but still a bargain when compared to other retail outlets and certainly when compared to the stealerships...

I grabbed a few when I was there, as you never know when they will decide to stop selling them again...

Believe it or not, some Ford dealers sell a lot of oil and oil filters over the counter. It all depends on the local market.

Last year, before I joined BITOG, I was woefully uninformed about oil & filters. I had always just left this job to the quickie-lubes. But, to prove to my wife that I was a "real man", I was determined to learn how to change the oil in my vehicles by myself.

So, I looked under the hood of my wife's Expedition & saw that it took SAE 5w30 oil. So I went to K-Mart & bought some QS Peak performance 5w30 oil. Decent stuff, but MAN, did I overpay - $22 for a case of 12 qt's.

Next, I decided that the Ford OEM oil filter would my best bet. So, I went to the local Ford dealer & bought the oil filter. I didn't know at that time that Motorcraft was the filter that I would be getting at Ford. The whole point of this is that I paid over $6 for a Motorcraft FL820S. Lesson learned.

Then I joined BITOG, & now I have way too much oil & I spend way too much time thinking about it.

$3.28 each now? guess my investment in the 58 FL400s's I got at $2.77 each was a good one and will be paying dividends long into the future being I don't think I will be needing any for awhile-quite awhile!!

My local Wally Mart stopped carrying MC oil and filters about 5 months ago. Now it's about 95% Fram, a few Supertechs and maybe a couple leftover FL1A's. If they ever start stocking 400s and 820s I'm gonna load up

A my wally's the FL1As are $2.77 ..the rest are $3.23 (maybe 3.28) except the one that may be for the power stroke which is (I think) over $6...but all appear well stocked (or as good as they ever were).

Well, I just got back from my local Wal-mart. Sometime since my last visit 4 days ago, they have fully re-stocked with Motorcraft filters.

They're $3.27 each, except for one long cartridge filter; I don't remember the pt. #...It was $19.95 & made in Germany (Yes a German made MC). I'm guessing that was a diesel engine filter.

I have to wonder if WalMart maybe found another source for Motorcraft oil and filters. Not sure how Motorcraft sells their products, could WalMart be buying from a third party like a distributor? Ford was the one that severed the relationship, not WalMart. I can't believe they would be this wishy-washy and reverse their decision after only a few months. Stranger things have happened though

When there is money to be made by either party, pride or whatever other reasons they were pulled for will be set aside. I personally think WAL-MART tried to squeeze MC for a few nickles more and MC gave them the bird. About this time, even the Supertech filters went up a dime to $2.07 and maybe WAL-MART realized MC was justified in having to increase their price and let MC back in. Pure speculation on my part.

The service manager at my local Walmart said that too many people where 'upset' and constantly asking for Motorcraft. My guess is that both parties had to 'give in' a little.

BTW, there was complete shelf space for all MC weights, all priced @ $1.88 yet there where only a few bottles of 10w-40 on the shelf, I asked if he had yet to get his stock, he said 'nope, sold it all'.

Sometimes this nickel and dimeing thing can get
carried away. I don't see what the big deal is.
Have you tried filling your tank recently???
Most people spend more on lunch than they do on
a filter.

Glad to see that MC is back. It's a convienient
place to find it...
