I switched to Amsoil Signature a year ago, from them "Meets or exceeds" gives me confidence. They have enough history where that has meaning.

Honestly with the oil situation and the filter selection at Walmart being so awful I think bundles at auto part stores are the way to go right now.
There have been plenty of deals on here in the promotions/rebate section to give everyone a chance to stock up.. I think I currently have 4 6qt boxes of Havoline synblend 10w-30 ($8 per box), 2 5qt jugs of QS Synthetic 10w-30 ($14 per jug), 1 5qt Jug of Castrol 5w-30 blend ($14 per jug), 4 6qt boxes of Havoline synthetic 0w-20 ($24 per box) and 4 5qt jugs of Mobil 1 5w-30 ($25 per jug - $10 rebate). All these from Walmart, Sams or Amazon. I rarely just buy 1 oci worth of oil. Stock up when the opportunity rises. Oil doesn't go bad on the shelf.
I do agree with the current Walmart Oil/Filter situation the best deal can be a bundle at the parts store these days if you just need a one off, but if you have a garage and space then get yourself a little stash and rest easy.

Unfortunately, things are probably going to get worse, as others have said. I have enough oil on my shelves to get my cars through a couple years (4 vehicles) and enough filters for even longer (much longer actually.)

Walmart closest to me has plenty of oil, though the prices have increased. I just bought a 5-quart jug of SuperTech 5W-30 conventional and it was $22 or $25.
I was buying the synthetic version for $16-17 before ! As for oil filters, this store has plenty of stock of Purolator Gold in place of what was Fram filters. They do appear to have more and more OEM filters as well.
My local store seems to have dedicated more shelf space to Supertech and less to the other brands as of last week. Quaker state (all types) is hidden on the bottom shelf now.
Several days ago my local Costco had an adequate stock of Kirkland brand oil so Warren is still able to ship product these days.
Interesting how different parts of the USA have different experiences. My Walmart has next to nothing. My Costco had a couple boxes of 0W-20, and a couple boxes of 5W-30 High Mileage. That's it. On top of that, we have a member here with over 13,000 messages advocating Walmart Purolator garbage gold filters.

Thanks everyone; good, rational info. Based on what I’m hearing about GM and the 5.3. /6.2 debacle, I care less about what they think anyway. The Blue full syn ought to be OK and I’m increasing viscosity from 0/20 to 5/30. I change plenty often also. I have no engine or transmission problems in 125K with afm disabled since about 60k. I am very afraid of anything new being sold now, especially at the “new, Higher prices”.
Part of the First Brands (who owned both Fram and Champion Labs) bankruptcy included Champion Labs ... so SuperTech oil filters got shut down just like Fram oil filter production.
Number one producer to sell it on the open market, not use it here. The motor oil price increase is mostly due to a shortage of base oil produced in the middle east.

There is no oil shortage whatsoever here in Southern California. All local auto parts, dealers and Sam's Club are fully stocked up. I cannot comment on Walmart as I do not shop there. Prices are still good as well.
Jiffy lube is still doing 60.00 (with coupon) oil change with the synthetic signature lube along with tire rotation and comprehensive vehicle inspection.
I just don't see what all the fuss and drama is about when there is neither a oil shortage or significant increase in oil prices/services.

GM had to find a new oil filter supplier (for now anyway) because Champion Labs shutdown due to the First Brands bankruptcy. PGI bought the Champion Labs factory, and is suppose to fire it back up soon.

Supertech Full Sythetic 0w-20 and OEM filter for the Toyota, GM, etc is basically the same cost as a STP oil and STP XL filter combo.

@Urshurak776, c'mon down to G-ville. The 2 Walmart Supercenters nearby are chock full of oil, albeit at the new prices.
