Walmart needs to sell the OE Honda filters unboxed like the dealer does

They shouldn't be taking any opened oil back. If the cap seal is broken or tampered with, returns should be denied. I think most Walmarts operate like that these days after being burned too often by scammers.

I don't disagree, but now you need someone more competent than someone's grandmother that doesn't get enough Social security running returns. In which case there low cost business model falls apart.

If you get used oil and take it home - and take it back, Walmart will return your money and eat the cost. I don't refuse to buy from Walmart because thieves steal from Walmart by returning used junk. Your blaming the wrong entity.

I presume eventually wal-mart will catch up with this, but then returning stuff will be much more difficult on everything, and everything will be questioned, and no one will be happy then either.

Not hard to train people in the return department to tell if an oil bottle cap seal has been broken. If they can't train people well enough, then that's a company and employee manager's issue.

Bottles with used oil in them shouldn't be making it back to the store self in the first place. And the wise buyer should double check the bottle themselves to make sure it hasn't been tampered with.

The Walmarts in my area are all seem wise to the scammer shenanigans, because I'm sure they've seen a lot of it - they adjust based on what's going on. Walmarts in small towns are probably way more "trusting" and could take back jugs of oil with everything but new oil in the jug. Scammers go for the weakest link.
