Walmart car batteries

Are the Wally World car and truck batteries being made by East Penn now?? I went to my nearby Walmart and found that the batteries looked like East Penn. Flat tops except where the terminals are. The group 24 looked just let me mine..



And many of the other vehicle batteries looked just like mine. The JC batteries have the access boxes on their tops. These did not have them. Anyone else seeing this at their Walmarts??
 
I bought an Everstart Maxx group 24 5 year about six weeks ago, and it said Johnson Controls right on the battery.
 
JCI makes batteries a flat top, no cell cap covers.

Walmart is always looking for the best deal from a vendor. Selling batteries to Walmart has to be a huge contract.

Walmart could have multiple vendors, east/west or north/south.

Last I looked at a NY Walmart, car batteries were made by JCI.

Did it have the access boxes on top of it?? Or flat as Kansas with the two terminals??

Two caps on top and not flat.

Says distributed by Johnson Controls Milwaukee, WI for Walmart. Could not see all of it because of the hold downs. Date was 2/17.

I have not been by the battery section in weeks now, so things may have changed since I bought mine and now.
 
I noticed the one for my car is made by Johnson Controls and the country of origin is Saudi Arabia. The Saudi government is wanting to diversify their economy and not be so reliant on oil.

And yeah JHZR2 I agree about the china part. Plus of all places Saudi Arabia... I had a battery made there have acid fly out of it and it almost hit me in my one good eye... Burned my right arm instead.

WM seems to have many with the octagon shaped vents. This tells me JCI.

I've said before that I noticed AAP has Deka batteries, but when I was in there last week, they appeared to have both JCI and Deka depending on the size.

No idea on either of the 2's COO.
