I haven't been able to find the answer to this question after searching BITOG and using Bing (yeah, I use Bing.). My Walmart recently changed from EP labeled Everstart batteries to JCI. The store carried EP for years. I've been keeping my eye on the shelves there and today saw standard flooded cell batteries with strings under the bar codes beginning with DNA. Does anyone here know what manufacturer that is? Thanks!

I believe that it is a South Korean battery (with the integrated fold-down handle) made by DN Automotive.

I believe MParr and Nukeman got it. The DNA labeled batteries do have the fold down handles mentioned. Thanks.

Not much info online about DN Automotive. All the Everstart MAXX at my local Walmart are now manufactured by them (SKorea).

Got 5 years out of my old MAXX made by Johnson Control, finally tested 'replace', even though it still is working fine.

A bit hesitant to purchase product rom this unfamiliar manufacturer, but hard to pass up at $129 with 3 year warranty.

I do think the purchasing department from Walmart makes sure the supplier will be the one who ultimately provides the replacement battery, so if it’s offered with the three year warranty from Walmart, the supplier, in this case DNA knows it better be a pretty good battery. I would not worry about DNA.

I was wondering about the DNA manufactuer code on the group 65 I just bought. It reminds me kind of an old school Delco Freedom battery, especially the "green eye"....
