Ok lets settle this. Pablo doesn't even come close to a salesman. Pablo recommended a different brand of oil for my situation to save me $$$. Pablo a salesman? hmm... Pablo has my respect because he has dealt with a lot of ____ here and has kept a cool/professional demeanor. Above all that - he pays this site to be an amsoil sponsor. Who can dis that??? No BITOG member should...

I've seen opened/unsealed oil quarts at Wal-Mart and AutoZone. Always makes me wonder

. That is one thing I don't have to worry about as I order from a factory (amsoil) for now. Amazing what people are going to these days to steal some $$$.

I bought a 5-quart jug of Mobil 1 EP and took it home...got my oil drained, and attempted to open the jug. I ended up having to use pump pliers to get the cap off...seemed like it had been partially melted on, but it's appearance wasn't affected. After getting the cap off, the tinfoil seal looked to have been burned, and most of it was missing. I later found it floating in the oil. BACK IT WENT.

Which brands still have the little clear window stripe runing down one side of the container?

My beloved TropArtic has it as well. BTW, anybody know if TA makes a 5W-20 oil? Can't find it in any of my Wally Worlds around here...

Sorry, Vad, these are folks that bought them directly from Dell's (and on a couple of occasions, Gateway's) site, or "built" them on the phone.

I don't doubt your experiences, don't get me wrong.
I've never dealt with Dell before and was considering bying a notebook from their outlet store.
Lots of those machines (mostly desktops) when go on-sale are being snapped up for resale on ebay which is full of Dells.
Check out for yourself. And the feedback from those sells is quite solid.
It's hard to imagine how the brand new machines or their packaging can have any signs of previous use or abuse, if the "previously orderd/refurbished" machines being resold in the pretty pristine condition.
