Is Supertech filters discontinued? Fram only at the near by Walmart. the place went down hill after the remodeling to a superstore. They have grocerys now but I don't go to Walmart for grocery

Some people have reported that the Super Tech filters are no longer available in their local stores. They're still on the shelves here.

I'd drive to K-Mart and get a Purolator instead, for less than a dollar more.

At my local Walmart the Super Tech section dwindled to about four different Super Tech filters two months ago. Now it's back in full force. The selection isn't as big as the FRAMs there, but it's a huge difference from a couple months ago.

True, Rainman had it right. But, they are now selling Purolator Classic and P1 filters instead of the orange can, and the only place I know where you can get them cheaper is Amazon. Might now be the best thing about K Mart.

Still selling ST's around here, but their shelf space is definitely dwarfed by the Fram/Honeywell varieties.

Check Value Craft at Auto Zone for an ST clone. They also have a good selection of STP, a more expensive ST clone.

$5.30 for a P1 filter. I don't recall on the classics. I know they are $3.x

Here, let me translate:

"If all you want is a cheap filter that is NOT made by Fram, you could try Purolator-made PowerFlo filters that are available at at AdvanceAuto for $1.99."

Let me fix that for you:

"Frams get a bad rap. They WOULD be fine filters if they cost about HALF what they do."

Let me fix that for you.

Many people question how Frams are built, but have no evidence the construction causes problems.
