Is it just me or does anyone ever look closely at the price of oil at wal mart and notice what I did Saturday? Went there to get a jug of Pennzoil Conventional 5w20, and they had 1 jug left, so I got that; then I look where the 5w30 was right beside it. Here's the kicker: Pennzoil Conventional 5w20 was $15.27, and the Pennzoil Conventional 5w30 was $15.97. Not that I care, I notice little stuff like that is all. Things that make you wonder especially at wal mart.

That was the first time I noticed that on the same brand oil was all. Thanks for the insight Eljefino
I would scan it and check-IF you can find one of the little stations to do it. In my store they took them all out so that people can't find their pricing errors BEFORE checking out!
Yeah, they pulled that stunt in another location less than 10 miles away! Think I am done using wal mart for oil, as I can get the oil I use at work for like 80% less
Plus the oil/auto section at the two wally's is like less than a regular isle.

Around the beginning of the year, Target does a "bulk savings" section in their seasonal area.
Almost every single item in "bulk" is more expensive per pound or per 100 (whatever unit of measure is) than the regular sized items.

The jug of a different weight was 70 cents more?
Up here, at our Walmarts, there is no price difference between grades or even brands across similar products (i.e. conventionals). The only exception are Supertech (it has a new name up here) which is a fair bit cheaper, and NextGen, which is $2 per jug cheaper than every other conventional.

Okay. Then what? Take a close look at Amsoil's top end oil, and you'll see difference between their grades too.

I've noticed the same here,the WM brand is not always less.Yeah I look at the little orange square, price per count/oz./lb.
They'll put the items with the highest profit in the speedways but check the shelf you'll probably find a similar product,cheaper.
