I have to tell you, One of you might come to me as I pick up a fram filter. LOL... I've just recently bought 3 of em!. Of course I'm a little reserved to call the orange cans garbage at this point. Reason? well, so far, according to my oil analysis with the use of a fram filter vers a Mobil 1 filter, the wear #'s are better. The filter test

I have seen many articles about poor quality of Fram filters. Most of them mention the possibility of oil getting around the filtering media because of poor sealing. It occurs to me that the low pressure drop of the Fram filter is due to that, rather than some very good flow qualities of Fram's filtering media. What do you think?

vvk, before I found my second home(here, if no one knows where I'm talking about) I used Frams on my 1990 5.0 Mustang and got over 140,000 miles on the engine before I sold it. I drove that car very hard too, and never had a problem

If what **** says is true then why do we even need oil filters anymore. If the Fram just bypasses oil without filtering it and Bob gets better wear rates with Fram then how come we even need an oilfilter? Maybe the modern lubricants when changed regularly are sufficient to suspend most wear contaminants. Any comments?
