I use to order Wagner E-coated rotors. When looking on RA I see a few Wagner pads but no Wagner rotors. What happened to them?

Use to order rotors from Amazon because of free shipping but cannot find any I like there these days.

Looking rotors for wife's 2021 Crosstrek. Probably get Power Stop coated. They are so cheap compared to ones for my F250. Must be a few pie tins pressed together??

Why not the Durago E-coated rotors? I would pair them with AC Delco Gold, Advics or Bosch Quietcast pads. You would have faaaar better brake package over any power stop kit

I installed a set of the PowerStop rotors and Z17 pads on my neighbor's KIA Sedona minivan on Saturday. They seemed to be good quality units and had the Geomet coating on the hat and finned circumference. Certainly better than the OEM KIA rotors that I replaced after 72,000 miles.

I used power stop plenty they're okay and mediocre. I educated myself a lot on brakes in the last 6 months I'm not a fan of the one size fits all friction material with power stop pads. And believe on certain vehicles especially heavier or performance applications why there's consumer complaints of a wooden feel and like there's not enough brakes. Their rotors are alright as long as you stay away from the junk drilled/slotted.

I have been using the cheapest rotors possible on RA closeout paired with Raybestos EHT pads with great success. The last closeout rotors listed as Famous Brands were the ProStop brand.

The PowerStop friction material is the same for a specific pad line (e.g., Z17- ceramic), but selecting a different performance line (Z23- carbon fiber, Z37- carbon fiber/ceramic) will yield a different friction compound blend.

I think you are seeing the dying remnants of First Brands lose. I grabbed 2 full sets of Z23 carbon fiber brake pads for my Hyundai and I was able to score one set of slotted front rotors, but no rear slotted rotors. By the time I tried getting others I was keep being denied after one week and given a refund. twice. That was 1 month to 1.5 months ago.

That's correct each product line uses their own friction blend but are not tuned to a specific vehicle application whereas brands that are marketed as matching OE friction type. A vehicle that came equipped with a low metallic or semi metallic pad, Powerstops idea is just chucking a (ceramic pad on it). You take Bosch for example they are OE matched semi and ceramic and Bosch will tune the ceramic formula for that specific vehicle needs so the ceramic pad can mimic the closest performance of the semi met pad.

I'm not not impressed with Wagner's rotors and drums anymore, especially after they stopped coating the inside of their drums and possibly did the same for their rotors :cautious:

I can vouch for Powerstop coated rotors. They are awesome. Powerstop rotors and Akebono pads are a good combo :)

If you still prefer E-coating, then Durago. Otherwise, Powerstop or something else from the gray section.

I had a set of their e coated rotors. The hats stayed ok, but everything else was a rusted eyesore in a year. Ac delco golds or ebc are the only rotors I’ve found that last a few years, coating wise and take the abuse of ebc pads. I just swapped out advics for ebc and couldn’t be happier with the bite. The dust is a whole other thread.

I checked RA, and the only thing worth some money there IMO are Advics high carbon, and since Advics is a Toyota supplier, my opinion of them is somewhere in the sewage category. Bosch or Brembo? Maybe, just maybe.
I would look at EBC.

I prefer a coating but not picky about E-coated or other coatings. Not sure I need coated rotors living in Southern Delaware (yes Delaware is big enough to have a northern and southern) but I lived in upstate NY where salting the roads was as common as sliced bread so I still feel I need to buy coated rotors and have vehicles sprayed with a rustproofing product.

Whose was a rusted eyesore in a year?

I do not think Wagner was part of the First Brands fraud. Raybestos was and I see plenty from them on RA website. I do see a few Wagner rotors but not a lot and none were E-coated.

I will be using Akebono Proact pads. The debate is what rotors I get.
BREMBO. I have Brembo rotors on the front with Akebono Proact pads on my CR-V and the performance, low pad wear, and lack of any warping despite my driving has been phenomenal. Powerstop rotors warped and started to vibrate on me last go around. I still have the PS rotors on the rear with the Akebono pads. I have 30K miles on the Akebono pads and they are at half life or better.

I've used the Powerstop Evolution line, and I also felt they were mediocre at best. Initially they were great, but they worn out fast in my experience.
