Own a 1979 300sd (w116) Mercedes Benz and need to replace the Lower Radiator Hose.

Yesterday I noticed a coolant leak at the end of the hose and tightening the clamp but the leak didn't stop.

I had previously ordered a lower radiator hose from Orielly's a few months ago and held on to it until needed.
I tried to install the Orielly's hose yesterday and noticed that the natural hose bends did not match the original hose. It was too short.

Any ideas on where I can source out a good (tight fit) hose?

Rock auto. Continental lower hose for just under 10 bucks + ship. Do the upper too for just over 10.

Before you install the new hose, clean and polish the hose nipple with fine sandpaper. Imperfections there can cause weeping at the joint no matter how tight the clamps are.

I looked up a lower hose for a 1979 300SD (W116 chassis).

Called eEuroparts and they DO NOT have the hose, it is not available.

So I purchased the Dayco C70705 hose (Made in U.S.A) at AutoZ and it fits really good. My local AutoZ had one in stock.

No leaks detected yet

Will report back tomorrow
