On some cars, like my W123s, the 240D and 300D turbodiesel mounts look exactly the same. They were originally different part numbers with different rubber values. Now the only part that prevails is the 300D turbodiesel one, so for example when I put new mounts in my 240D, I have to use the 300D mounts. And only one variant, not the left vs right specific ones.
Hope that helps/makes sense.
There are enough w116 diesels around to still have a market.
You sure they arent the same mounts as W123 or W126 OM617 mounts? Lots of cars used an OM617 variant...
You got me thinking.
I think I remember one of my Mercedes (w126 300sel, w108 280sel, w116 300sd) having interchangeable mounts (left to right, right to left), and I do know that one of the 2 mounts has an HD next to the part number and that is the only difference. I think its my w108.
I have not removed the Right side mount to my w116 to see if it looks the same or check to see if the holes line up with the other side.
I usually keep all mounts that I remove for years before discarding, but for some reason I couldn't find the w116 old mounts in my cabinet.
I've learned my lesson in the past and so I never remove both mounts at the same time. Harder to align.
Going to do some more research.
Hope I can find a solid mount.
The two sides won't look the same when removed. One will be squashed more than the other. That's exactly why DB used to make different ones. Softer on the less squashed side for more dampening, harder on the other to resist crush.
I think I saw above, the correct parts for your car are actually now superseded with 123 part numbers????
