W.C.W. : New NAPA Gold 100290 + MICROGUARD Select MSL57060 cut open

Fantasmo, are you switched over to all PGs now...?
Good question, I don't have any plans to but you know how that goes. Have some Purolator One's & OG Ultra's right now in some boxes I bought for pennies on the dollar from eBay. Once I can't find anymore Ultra's I'll probably run the Microgard Select from Oreilly's (PG) on the Volvo. 🤠

I did run them on the Crafstman for a bit though.
What about you?

I'm actually going to run a S241 PG-EG over a fresh Royal Purple on my Maverick.
All silicone, no louvers, and a thicker can as well as far less glue...
Price plays no part in this as I have a bunch of both.

Surprised?? Grin 😁

Yes, That there is actually a company out here that offers us consistency & quality at a good price. Given that offering & you're willingness to evolve proves you're a Maverick Jim.

So, Napa Gold oil filters are now made by Premium Guard....Who Knew?

A few months ago the pictures of Napa Gold filters changed and obviously were PG filters. Though the wording on Napa website never has been changed.

One problemo…

Napa Gold 57356 is $12.99

Carquest Premium is $7.99…

For the exact same filter. Heck even the O Reillys Microgard Seiext is $9.99.

I'm not active much here but I keep hearing about this Microgard Selectwhenever I come here, it's that good

Also, louvers inlet is bad? Seem like all top-tier oil filters have lovers

Yeah bbhero, it seems 'now' perhaps an /s after my "who knew' comment might have been needed. In my observation, this subforum has been all over the Napa Gold manufacturer filter change to PGI for a while now. And, more recently with confused and confusing yt man bun dude being set straight in comments.

The CQ Prem. 84356 will be my choice for first try of the PGI made filters. It's currently $7.80, but after easily found 15% off code, ~$6.60. Napa Gold is pricey. If I was going to pay that, it would likely be for a Fram Endurance.

Since I got tired of the WIX/ NAPA shenanigans, I've switched to the Microgard filters and couldn't be happier about their quality and consistency.

Excellent filter and I've been really pleased with their no-nonsense marketing and price. Win Win.
